Flask-Bower uses Flask's send_file function to serve the Bower components, but send_file doesn't by default add any etags. This means that the client will redownload the same static files over and over from the server, including some fairly large ones. (I'm looking at you, AngularJS!)

I'll prepare a pull request that fixes this.

overlay_url_for uses os.path.sep to split the filename into a list.

os.path.sep is platform dependant, hence the template is platform dependant, which is not desired.

On linux:
url_for('bower.static', filename='jquery/dist/jquery.js')
On Windows:
url_for('bower.static', filename='jquery\\dist\\jquery.js')
