Adds a relationship profile field type to connect members to other objects

Description

This WordPress plugin requires at least WordPress 4.5 and BuddyPress 2.7.

Use the Relationship profile field type to connect your members to other (WordPress) objects like:

• Post Types
• Taxonomies
• Users
• Roles
• Comments
• and custom items that can be added through plugin filters

This plugin is inspired by the Relationship type connector in Pods.

Installation

If you download BP XProfile Relationship Field manually, make sure it is uploaded to "/wp-content/plugins/bp-xprofile-relationship-field/".

Activate BP XProfile Relationship Field in the "Plugins" admin panel using the "Activate" link. If you're using WordPress Multisite, you can choose to activate BP XProfile Relationship Field network wide for full integration with all of your sites.

Updates

This plugin is not hosted in the official WordPress repository. Instead, updating is supported through use of the GitHub Updater plugin by @afragen and friends.

Member Types Relationship

What about the new Member Type? Although being private, I think it should be interesting to have it.

Relationship with users restriction

Thank you for this plugin.

I see that the plugin already allows users to select other users to show a relationship with them. Is there a possibility to restrict the user having a specific user role to only see users who have another specific user role?

Here is what I am trying to do:
I have assigned users, wordpress roles as institutes and practitioners. I would like practitioners to select the institutes they are working with or the institutes to select practitioners who are working with the institute. So when I use the relationship field to create this relationship between users, currently all site users/members are listed for selection. What I am looking for is:

1. When a user with role practitioner is editing their profile, in the relationship field they only see users with role institutes
2. When a user with role institute is editing their profile, in the relationship field they only see users with role practitioners

Is there a way to do this?
