catfacts's Issues

stopped displaying new facts

For quite a while now I always get the same fact and clicking on the refresh arrow does not bring up a new cat fact. I'm stuck on the following fact.

Cat facts was working just fine couple of months ago when I first installed it. Unfortunately, i cannot specify the exact period or circumstances when it stopped working. I already tried reinstalling without any effect. journalctl only logs the following

Jun 18 13:02:58 X302UA178cf8b1 systemd[997]: Started app-flatpak-com.github.linuxhubit.catfacts-4441.scope.

Package as Flatpak for elementary OS 6

As you might have heard, AppCenter is going Flatpak! For elementary OS 6, we will not longer be accepting Debian packaging, so your app will need to be updated.

We have documentation on our developer guide for writing your Flatpak manifest here: https://docs.elementary.io/develop/writing-apps/our-first-app/packaging#flatpak-manifest

Also, in case you missed it, elementary OS 6 beta 2 is now available. This is a great time to get your app packaged up as Flatpak and test that everything is working before the final release. AppCenter submission for OS 6 will be open soon, so don't delay :)

Change requested for AppCenter: Close button position

Similar to linuxhubit/shouldidoit#6

While reviewing your app, we noticed a change that needs to be made for it to be accepted.

It looks like you're manually packing a close button into the end of your titlebar. However, elementary OS uses close buttons at the start of the titlebar. Your app's close button should match this system behavior.

Once you've made this change, please create a new release and submit that to the AppCenter Dashboard. Thanks!

App doesn't seem to open

When trying to open Cat Facts, the app doesn't appear to open at all. Eventually after some time, a window appears with "API limit exceeded"

Escaping issue with \"

Sometimes escaping slashes are shown in a cat fact:

The API returns sometimes escape slashes in the response:

Probably that's the cause for this issue.
