When I try to access SD card and Phone settings to check memory usage, it 
unexpectedly stops and goes to force close

Should take you to all threads for sms.  Force closes immediately without 
loading anything.

If using sms notification to jump straight to a certain thread then no force 
close.  Only area causing fc's is the main screen of stock sms app.

1. While composing a message, bubble will say "message received from XXX", but 
the new message doesn't appear in the thread or as a new thread.

rec'd when alerted by the "message received from XXX".  The supposed text 
doesn't appear in the chronological thread.

1. Go to marketplace and search for example facebook new 1.3.2 version
2. Start download and it appears to be working
3. When download completes and starts installing you get error

Should see application installed successfully, instead you see application was 
not installed successfully
