I guess this should be possible and I planned to have it for one of the next release

The project is not currently configured for providing menu commands. I've done this a few times before if you'd like me to get it started.

Sure, if you have the time for it. I did an extension with commands once and it wasn't particularly hard, just started from one of the vsix templates I think. Needs some attention to make sure strings in resources and code match tough IIRC.
