confluent-examples's Issues

Map Java client HelloWorld example

Start by bringing up Confluent Platform using Docker: https://docs.confluent.io/current/quickstart/ce-docker-quickstart.html#ce-docker-quickstart . Make sure Confluent Platform has started completely and is healthy before continuing.

Then, configure your environment by following: https://github.com/confluentinc/configuration-templates/tree/master/README.md

Next, verify you can run the steps in without using the appmap agent:
https://github.com/land-of-apps/confluent-examples/tree/5.5.1-post/clients/cloud/java#example-1-hello-world .

Finally, create appmaps for each of the steps.

To create a map of a step, you need to:

  • Update the code to use Recorder.record to capture events
  • Run the step with the appmap agent enabled
