create-svelte

Everything you need to build a Svelte project, powered by create-svelte.

Creating a project

If you're seeing this, you've probably already done this step. Congrats!

# create a new project in the current directory
npm create svelte@latest

# create a new project in my-app
npm create svelte@latest my-app

Developing

Once you've created a project and installed dependencies with npm install (or pnpm install or yarn), start a development server:

npm run dev

# or start the server and open the app in a new browser tab
npm run dev -- --open

Building

To create a production version of your app:

npm run build

You can preview the production build with npm run preview.

To deploy your app, you may need to install an adapter for your target environment.

Data-cluster route /data-cluster/[dataset]

Make a dedicated route with dataset key as url param.

Add opacity to the data-points

Color from vec3 to vec4 using col.w channel for opacity setting - update as vertex attribute.

Scale marker size to fit cluster cube... bar-chart main target

The bar-chart is too tall for UK Elections 2019 ... we need to scale the (circular) marker size in the shader to make the points fit within the spatial limits.

dropdown for available datasets

We can fix datasets by route or with a drop-down... either way providing an option is necessary for demo purposes.

Table cluster type

We want a table cluster with labels - e.g. election constituency wins by majority. Default 'label' field.

life dataset loading into separate utility file

This loading doesn't need to be in the datacluster +page.svelte...

shader files (vert, frag) not inline strings...

With linting etc. in vscode...

add show-fields configuration option for the datasets

Currently we can ignore fields but we should also be able to specify those that get shown.

A natural addition to the clusters and a better fit for the bar labels...

Add way to drive field options GUI from parent component

In order to synchronize changes in related datasets we need a top-level GUI:

remove all GUI stuff to separate component?
... or just do it the hacky way for now. How often will this stuff be needed?

Use data points indexes (`_index`) to change shader attributes

This will allow sorting, filtering and the like. A few clusters will need adapting.

UK election comparative chart

Show two datasets concurrently and allow state change syncced for both:
