In remote regions of India, students lack access to proper physics and chemistry lab facilities, hindering their practical learning and understanding of scientific concepts. The absence of hands-on laboratory experiences limits their exposure to practical applications of physics and chemistry, hindering their overall academic growth.
We propose the development of a Virtual Reality (VR) app for the Meta Quest 2 platform, targeting Indian students in remote regions who lack access to proper physics and chemistry lab facilities. This VR app will provide immersive virtual labs, allowing students to conduct experiments, observe reactions, and explore scientific concepts interactively. By leveraging VR technology, we can overcome the limitations of physical labs and provide students with high-quality lab experiences, enhancing their understanding of physics and chemistry. The app will cover a wide range of experiments aligned with the Indian curriculum, democratizing access to quality science education and empowering students to develop strong foundations in these subjects.
The VR app will be developed using Unity and the Oculus SDK, leveraging the Meta Quest 2 VR headset. It will incorporate 3D modeling software for creating lab equipment and assets, physics simulation software for realistic interactions, and audio and image editing software for enhanced visuals and sound effects. Collaboration tools will facilitate project management and communication, and testing devices will ensure quality assurance.
The VR app for physics and chemistry labs in remote regions of India will democratize access to high-quality lab experiences, enhance learning through immersive and interactive experiences, foster scientific thinking, and overcome infrastructure limitations.
