Currently, we need to manually test the dependency bumps prompted by renovatebot, for kubewarden itself and charts such as cert-manager, opentelemetry, etc.

Acceptance criteria

either:

• Have tests that are run on each PR, consuming the changes of the PR, and tells us if the PR breaks the fleet-examples deployment (preferable).
  or:
• Consume fleet-example in some E2E tests (like kubewarden-ui e2e tests or kubewarden-end-to-end-tests), and ensure they are periodically run. Then, we could open PRs to revert bumps of the dependencies that happened to fleet-example.

Renovate bot can deal with git and helm dependencies in Fleet files.

Enable it for this repo, to get automatic bumps of Kubewarden releases. This is done by enabling the "Mend Renovate App" in this repo.

Is your feature request related to a problem?

In Version 0.8 of Fleet Drift Detection and Correction was implemented docs.

We could make this repo use the feature to enforce best practices (git as single source of truth)

Solution you'd like

The needed flags would imo be

  correctDrift:
    enabled: true
    force: true 

This will enforce the consistency by making sure all resources are present in the configured way.
