scriptblock's Issues

Problems with http://www.miles-and-more.com/

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. activate scriptblock
2. open http://www.miles-and-more.com/

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
the site does not load and the window to set scriptblock will not show. All I
get are the buttons "Donate | Options | Close" and NOTHING above that. Strange,
so far only for this site. Installed scriptblocker yesterday.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
OS X Yosemite BETA 4 with scriptblocker 1.0

Please provide any additional information below.
The site "miles-and-more.com" will not load until scripblocker is disabled and
miles-and-more.com is loaded from a NEW tab. It will not load from the tab that
would not load.

Changing the default password causes "Extension has been corrupted"

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Open Extensions page in Chrome and find ScriptBlock, verify everything's fine
2. Change default password in CHANGE__PASSWORD__HERE.js file
3. Reload Extensions page in Chrome and find error about extension being
corrupted, with option to repair (which basically reinstalls the extension and
resets to the default password)

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?

ScriptBlock: 1.0_0
Chrome: Version 39.0.2171.65 (64-bit)
OS: Ubuntu

Please can you add sub-domain allow/block

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Non, this is a feature request
2.
3.

Please can you add sub-domain allow/block in the drop-down. I don't want to
allow e.g. google.com that's just asking for trouble, but to allow e.g.
mail.google.com or www.google.com

I can do this manually every time but I have to guess the sub-domain names,
whereas coming from NoScript it would show them all so I can choose them.

Feature suggestion: Automatically enable scripts from "safe" sites, according to Google Safe Browsing

Often times, I'll use the Google Safe Browsing diagnostic page (clicking "info"
in scriptblock), and enable sites that have (in the past 90 days):
* been listed 0 times,
* hosted 0 exploits,
* hosted 0 trojans,
* hosted 0 virus(es),
* averaged 0 new processes on the target machine,
* have malicious software hosted on 0 domains,
* 0 domains acting as intermediaries,
* AND have been visited at least once in the past 90 days.

It'd be nice if scriptblock did this automatically. I've looked into the Safe
Browsing API, but I'm not a Javascript/web developer - so I can't really help
with implementing the feature.

Transitioning over from NotScripts

I am transitioning from NotScripts and had a very extensive whitelist built up
in the plugin. Because the plugin became dysfunctional I was forced to look for
alternatives, which is how I ended up installing its apparent successor.

Problem is, the extensive whitelist that was built up in the other plugin does
not seem to transfer over despite the many similarities between these plugins.
I tried googling for a way to recover the old whitelist, but came up empty. I
also added this as a question in the extension's Chrome Web Store support page.
Would appreciate it greatly if such a feature was either added, or some
instructions could be offered.

Whitelist Mode Top level?

What steps will reproduce the problem?

1. Other Script blockers allow for the this to be entered in the PASSWORD_FILE
const ENCRYPTION_PASSWORD = "???????????????_____??????????????????";
const BLOCKING_MODE = "WHITELIST_ALLOW_TOP_LEVEL";

2. Will the "const BLOCKING_MODE = "WHITELIST_ALLOW_TOP_LEVEL"; Work if entered
in?

Top Level Domain (Option to) Script Allow by Default

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Visit a new site
2.
3.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

There should be an option to for users to select Allow Top Level Domains by
default, which they can change if they wish. Extensions like Clearly will not
work unless both the top level domain (as well as the ID code for Clearly -
which is, incidentally, iooicodkiihhpojmmeghjclgihfjdjhj ) are enabled. For
users who wish to use Clearly etc they might find it time-consuming to Allow
top levels for each and every site they visit. But of course if there was this
option it should not be enabled by default.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Version 1.0 on Chrome

Please provide any additional information below.
I am not sure this really qualifies as a bug exactly, so sorry for that.. This
and context menu functionality would be icing on cake.

Multi-Select Sites doesn't function

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Check multi-select sites -
2. Go to website with only one site that is blocked
3. Check Allow
4. Close - chrome does not reload

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
1. Expect to see site allowed, but it isn't. Works without Multi-select sites
checked.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Version 3; Win 8.1 Pro latest updates

ScriptBlock disables login to bank account.

Q1) What steps will reproduce the problem?
A1) Go to the following URL:
https://cm.netteller.com/login2008/Authentication/Views/Login.aspx?fi=communityf
inancial&bn=40807f7656a00d22&burlid=f8c38d21e741b535

Q2) What is the expected output?
A2) Ability to login to bank account.

Q3) What do you see instead?
A3) A pop-up window labeled "Attention" and containing the following message
(without quotes): "Internet banking is already running in this browser session.
Multiple logins within the same browser session are not permitted. Please
select OK and then close this browser tab."

Q4) What version of the product are you using?
A4) ScriptBlock version 1.0.

Q5) On what operating system?
A5) Microsoft Windows XP (Service Pack 3)

Q6) Any additional information?
A6) Pop-up window (described above) disables login to bank account. Selecting
"Temporarily allows scripts globally" option within ScriptBlock does not
eliminate the pop-up window. Disabling ScriptBlock via the Chrome extensions
page (chrome://extensions) eliminates the pop-up window and enables login to
bank account.

Blocking google dictionary extension unknown reason

What steps will reproduce the problem?

1. Install google dictionary extension
https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/google-dictionary-by-goog/mgijmajocgfc
beboacabfgobmjgjcoja
2. Highlight any english word in text (try with ctrl and alt if not works)

What is the expected output?
yellow popup with googledict-transleted word

What do you see instead?
yellow popup with "searching..." text

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Ubuntu 14.04
Chrome 39.0.2171.99 (64-bit)

Please provide any additional information below.

I've checked - it's not google dict problem: after disabling scriptblock and
restarting browser googledict extention works fine.

Adding "google.com" gstatic.com, etc to exceptions list not helps
unfortunately. "Temporary enable all" options doesn't help too. Only
deactivating scriptblock and restarting browser helps.

Thanks!

Scriptblock not initializing when cookies are denied.

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Disable cookies globally.
2. Open new site.
3. Scriptblock remains greyed out until cookies are permitted.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Expect Scriptblock to deny scripts without permitting cookies.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Win7x64, Chrome Canary 38.0.2109.0, Scriptblock 1.0

Please provide any additional information below.
I have also tested this in stable and beta chrome as well and the behavior is
consistent. I have Ghostery and Adblock Plus running, but have confirmed that
they are not causing this. Only if I permit cookies for the top level domain
will Scriptblock turn red, otherwise it remains grey.

Redirected Domain blocks but gives no option to unblock

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Goto www.weather.gov. Allow www.weather.gov
2. Search on zip code. Get redirected to forecast.weather.gov
3. Click red scriptblock icon to unblock forecast.weather.gov. No option to
unblock given.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

Should see an option to unblock forecast.weather.gov. Instead, you can't get to
it unless you add it manually via "settings"

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Chrome, linux, installed scriptblock today from store

Please provide any additional information below.

No option for blacklist

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Install the program
2. Open the options menu
3. No option to allow websites to run scripts by default exists

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
There should be an option to allow websites to run scripts by default, as the
vast majority of websites are entirely nonfunctional without scripts. As it
stands you need to add websites to the whitelist, refresh, and then repeat
upwards of a dozen times in order to whitelist all the scripts they use.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
1.0.0

Please provide any additional information below.

Save Whitelist and import Bookmarks

Sorry if I'm doing things wrong, this is the first time but I would like 2
additions if possible;

- Due to AdwCleaner I recently lost all of my settings (for the second time).
Can you make the whitelist sync to Google? It's a pain having to restore this
from scratch.
- An option to add all/some (controlled) bookmarks to the whitelist would also
be great, in case disaster happens.

Just my 2 cents...
Regards,
Leo.

Expected is that I will reload sites manually; instead they continue to reload
automatically.

Doesn't block most scripts on most sites.

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Going to CNN.com and seeing that there's only one server to unblock.
2. Using NoScript for Firefox on CNN.com and finding there's 9 servers to
unblock.
3. I'm finding that this is the case on most news websites and many other
websites, where ScriptBlock is only blocking the scripts from ONE server
instead of often a dozen or more.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

I expect to see as many servers to unblock as on NoScript for Firefox. If I
can't block scripts from all those servers and everything just goes through
because there's only one server to unblock, what good is this extension?

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?

Feature Request - More fine control of blocking.

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. None- feature request
2.
3.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Just a feature request.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Win7

Please provide any additional information below.
Great product! I just have one request.
I would like the option to block or unblock sites based on who is requesting.
So I could allow Facebook.com to run scripts from Facebook.com, but I don't
need anybody else to be able to run scripts from there (that allows them to
track us, after all).

Also, would be nice if I could set it to allow sites to have scripts from
themselves unblocked by default, with the option of blocking.

Thanks again for a great product!

Popup Window script is blocked, need to enable global scripts to unblock

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Using most recent Chrome - Go to a website for example I go to my account at
https://secure.eurobuzz.com
2. After logging in I go to support. This brings up a popup support.mobal.com.
Scriptblock does not show up. And in the original window there is no new sign
of a blocked script. However, nothing happens.
3. I need to go back to ScriptBlock and temporarily allow scripts universally.
4. This has happened on several sites that I use.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
I expect to see what ever is in the popup window to show up. Instead I get a
blocked window.
