awesome-rice's Issues

Widget Config

How do I disable the suitcase widget and the (disconnected) widget?

Awesome Bar

Hi, first, congrats for the well done project!

I'm trying to use the bar on my awesme config, how can I import only the bar to my config?

Clients aren't respecting tags with multi-monitors (in VMware Workstation)

Issue Description

When using triple monitors with this kosorin/awesome-rice cloned repo, clients get super buggy to being unusable. The clients do not seem to respect the tags at all, always being visible regardless of tag selected.

This is running in a VM on VMware Workstation. I do not currently have a bare-metal install on which to test this

Details

When triple monitors are activated:

  • Three independent desktops appear as expected
  • Each monitor's tag list appears to work independently as expected
  • Switching tags updates the tag list in the top bar for just that monitor as expected
  • Client windows can be dragged to each monitor as expected

However, when switching or toggling tags, the clients displayed don't really seem to update (show/hide) when different tag(s) are selected/toggled. The environment quickly becomes unusable with unresponsive clients and overlapping screen artifacts.

Testing

VMware

When VM is only given only one monitor by VMware Workstation, everything works great. When VM is given two or three monitors by VMware Workstation, the behavior above is present

Default Vanilla AwesomeWM

When replacing this code with a default vanilla install of AwesomeWM everything works great as expected. Each monitor has its own independent desktop with tag list. Clients drag between monitors and respect the independent tags as expected.

Planned Tests

  1. I would like to see if this behavior is present in a bare-metal install, This will determine if the issue is with the VMware display monitor/screen settings.

    1. See attached xrandr outputs for both single and triple monitors
      xrandr-single.txt
      xrandr-triple.txt
  2. I am planning on going back in your commit history and trying out different releases to see where this behavior is introduced.

sctd

since you use sct you may be interested in sctd i plan to eventually add some more features like a mode to emulate how the android style night light works and the ability to interact with it through a socket.

Discord

Hey can I get your discord so we can talk further, mostly something about the readmes and more functionality I can add :D

System resource (cpu/ram/HD) widget?

Is there any sort of prebuilt widget that mimics the network one that shows CPU core %, RAM %, and/or HD used %?

I have begun looking into and wireframing out how I might be able to add one if you don't already have one made.

Also CPU/GPU temp?

Picom Configuration

Hello, quick question, would it be possible to get your picom config?
I really like it and I'm new to picom.. I'd love to take a look at it.
Sorry if this may not be the right place to ask ^^'

Wallpaper Menu

How do I enable/install the "feature flag" wallpaper_menu + Do you have a discord for faster contact?

Make first window take all the space

Hey, The first window that get's spawn is in the middle of the screen. I would like it to take all the space available. Can you guide me a little bit how can I do that. I'm currently learning AwesomeWM API's so not sure where to look first.
