I really like the idea of the dif preprocessor, but unfortunately for me it keeps failing with incorrect file names :(
Looks like main path is doubled in the final filename

The title says it all: /tmp files are not being removed. Directories and files /tmp/d_XYZW/{1,2}__* are not being removed upon exit from tkdiff or meld or whatever gui is used.

Love the dif tool !! Really great and very practical tool !! But I think /tmp should be cleaned up (unless invoked in some sort of debug mode, perhaps)

Hi, I discovered your tool on StackExchange and really love it!
Got a problem with comparing asm files that have comments starting with ';'
I tried '-white -case -search ';' -replace '//' -comments' but it didn't filter out the comments as expected but showed all of them with '//'. meld does ignore my settings, too.
What can I do? Thanks!

I got a reference to your tool on a forum and I really love it. It fills a real gap.

While I am using it I come across that when diffing folders with (verilog) files in it, that contains or operator `|' that is seemed to be removed and not appearing in the visual diff.

I am using it like this:

dif DIR1 DIR2 -gui tkdiff -white -ignore 'Limited' -ignore 'Release Information' -search '2020-2021' -replace '2020'

Is there any way to guard the `|' s in the code during visual diffs?
