Im getting broken graphs on some devices

Any advise?

Migration from CentOS7 to new RockyLinux server.

Hi,
First of all, I want to thank you for your great job !
According to your recomendations, I want to migrate my current Cacti which was installed on a CentOS 7 using your (marvelous ;)) installation script to a new Rocky Linux Server.
The latest Cacti version will thus be installed using your script from scratch on a brand new Rocky Linux server, but do you have a procedure for this kind of migration, in order to migrate the data, including database, all rrd files, added templates, and custom web interface template to the new server once Cacti installed ?
Thanks in advance.

Problem for PHP

Hello,
I wanted to consult this problem that I am having with the php specifically and that I am not finishing to understand what happens.
It turns out that it is not raising the cacti, checking in the /var/log/httpd/error_log it returns an error like the memory limit is very low, so I went to check inside the /etc/php.ini file and saw that is set to 800 M, I continued to increase it but it does not stop returning the same error. The only way I see that it works is by setting it to -1 (no limit), but it doesn't seem like a good practice to leave it like that.

The error it returns is:
[Fri Aug 28 12:04:00.826314 2020] [php7:error] [pid 2424] [client 10.100.22.142:56557] PHP Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 943718400 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 425984 bytes) in /var/www/html/cacti/include/vendor/gettext/src/Extractors/Mo.php on line 69
[Fri Aug 28 12:04:07.187122 2020] [php7:error] [pid 2425] [client 10.100.22.142:56558] PHP Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 943718400 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 425984 bytes) in /var/www/html/cacti/include/vendor/gettext/src/Extractors/Mo.php on line 69

I already apologize for my English
Regards

Fresh Install on CentOS 8.2.2004 - Spine installation failed

Hi,
First of all, thanks a lot for your work ;)
I installed Cacti using your installation script, following the procedure https://github.com/KnoAll/cacti-template/tree/master/install
Everything went fine, but once installed, I noticed that spine was not installed, and when trying to install it manually, I got the following error : "make: *** [Makefile:974: spine.1] Error 1"
Googling a while learned me that it seems to be due to a known MariaDB bug.
Is there anyway a workaround to get spine working ?
OS version is CentOS 8.2.2004 x64
Thanks in advance for your help.

1.2.14 OVF timezone change

After installing the latest OVF 1.2.14, I changed the timezone via

timedatectl set-timezone America/New_York

then edited /etc/php.ini and changed:

date.timezone = America/New_York

restarted httpd

After this the graphs no longer update with data. The time in the graphs is correct and any data before the timezone change is correct, but any new data does not graph. There are no errors in the logs. I rebooted the system to restart all services, no change. I then ran ./cacti-upgrade.sh and verified during the upgrade that php and mysql saw the correct timezones.

Is there somplace else the timezone needs to be changed?

Problems with OVA download

I'm having a problem downloading and extracting the OVA from the RAR. Is there a known issue with the current RAR file? I've tried downloading several times from multiple locations.

Log rotation issue

Hello.
When the cacti.log rotates, I get the error "System log file is not available for writing, please enable write access Log: /var/www/html/cacti/log/cacti.log"

File shows:
-rw-r--r--. 1 cacti apache 498552 Jul 23 07:23 cacti.log

Changing the file to 664 gets me up but I am having to do it with every rotation. I didn't have the issue with the original ova but it started after doing the in-place upgrade. I tried upgrading again (now to 1.2.13) but the problem persists.

Thanks for any assistance you can lend!

Cacti graph permissions issue

I am a network engineer, but weal at linix.
Have an issue with generation graphs. I found that the /var/www/html/cacti/rra has the 3 4 5.. directories.
The 3 directory, which has the local cacti graphs had cacti apache rights.
The new directories have apache apache 4 5 ....
I used cmod 777 on the other directories and now graphs are being generated.

Is this the right way to fix problem, or is there another solution?

Website does not have write access to folder...

followed README.md
and got this error

using vSphere esx virtualization

Any helps,..

Permissions issue for /var/www/html/cacti/rra directories.

Running your [Update 12/10/2019] version. Hit errors for permissions on the rra directory.

Here's the logs from cacti:
2019/12/19 06:38:56 - CMDPHP ERROR: Unable to set directory permissions for '/var/www/html/cacti/rra/5'

2019/12/19 06:38:56 - CMDPHP PHP ERROR WARNING Backtrace: (/host.php[60]:form_save(), /host.php[252]:api_device_save(), /lib/api_device.php[793]:chown(), CactiErrorHandler())
2019/12/19 06:38:56 - ERROR PHP WARNING: chown(): Operation not permitted in file: /var/www/html/cacti/lib/api_device.php on line: 793

Resolved by changing permissions on the rra folder:

[root@cactitemplate cacti]# chown -R cacti.apache /var/www/html/cacti/rra/
[root@cactitemplate cacti]# chmod -R 775 /var/www/html/cacti/rra/
[root@cactitemplate cacti]# chmod g+s /var/www/html/cacti/rra/

This problem reproduces every time you create a new device.

You can also work around this in Cacti by changing the setting 'Structured RRD Paths' to off. This works around the issue, by not creating new directories for each device. This is ultimately how I resolved the issue going forward.

Might be worth making a small tweak to your appliance by turning off that feature. I appreciate your efforts to put this together and make it available for folks!

No graph on 1.2.7

When on 1.2.5 there is no graph. Perform update using script with --fix-permissions to 1.2.7, nothing. No files is being write to /var/www/html/cacti/rra/(New device)

What I done so far.
Update date/time on system. Also on /etc/php.ini.

System log file is not available for writing

System log file is not available for writing, please enable write access Log: /var/www/html/cacti/log/cacti.log

This just happened with no changes to cacti. Using cacti appliance.

Cacti upgraded to v1.2.15.

Cacti upgrade from 1.1.38 to 1.2.9 is not completed

Hello,
I need help because I upgrade my cacti based on CentOS 7 from 1.1.38 to 1.2.9 by your script, the update seems to end correctly but when I log in to cacti home page, the procedure for completing the update does not start and cacti remains at the version 1.1.38; in detail:
I point my web browser to http://my-server/cacti/ but I don't see any instructions, it only ask to me credential to login, I insert credentials and it starts to show to me the graph as always happen, version remain 1.1.38.

Keep custom themes after upgrade

Hi,

First of all, thanks a lot for your work and the install/upgrade script.
Could it be possible to adapt the upgrade script in order to keep any custom theme after an upgrade ?
This is not really an issue but a simple request, as I actually manually copy my custom theme into the ~/cacti/include/themes after each upgrade, but it would be useful if it was automated.
Thanks in advance.

Smokeping installation on Rocky Linux 9.1

Hi,
I just installed a brand new Cacti on a Rocky Linux 9.1 server.
All has run successfully, but I now tried to install SmokePing and, even if it seems to install properly, the process ends with the message "Uh-oh. Sorry, unsupported OS Exiting..."
Did I miss something ?
