This library contains PCB footprints for various LEDs (light emitting diodes) and associated devices

Currently, each footprint library is hosted on GitHub as an individual repository. This is unmaintainable and these libraries will be merged (here) for the v5 KiCad release.

leds.pretty's Issues

SMD leds have silkscreen under components also fab layer is absent

silkscreen may lift up smd components, and not much to look at anyway if diode is mounted.

what the assembly house wants is assembly drawings (fab) and that is missing at least on some.

"Cree" or "CREE"?

All but one footprint use all capital letters. One is mixed case. It seems Cree's website uses mixed case:

Any objections if I change it all to mixed case?

Should this be split into Leds_SMD.pretty and Leds_THT. pretty

I was this library is not split into to SMD and THT like regular diodes, caps and practically everything else

RFC: Color for new 3D models

Im in the process of making some new models for the SMD chip Leds (0402) since Im scripting them it wouldnt be a problem to generate a lot of the color variations of standard Leds. Only question if it would be bloating the library since a footprint for each would be needed. Also in case it would be approved, how should the naming scheme be?
