DataPlotter

Data Plotter is a lightweight 2D data plotting and analysis application. It is licsensed under the GPLv2 license. See the wiki for more information.

DataPlotter is built upon wxWidgets, OpenGL, and Freetype2. It compiles and runs under both MSW and GTK.

DataPlotter was created as a simple and fast means for visualizing data. Simply drag-and-drop a file containing delimited numerical data, choose which columns to draw, and look at your data.

Plot interaction is handled with mouse clicks (click-and-drag to pan, right-click-and-drag to zoom), and data can be manipulated by right clicking on curves in the grid below the plot area, and following menu options. DataPlotter supports a variety of mathematical operations on datasets, including discrete filtering, FFT, and user-specified arethemetic operations.

Allow copy/paste from within description edit object

Under GTK (MSW untested) currently attempts to copy image when CTRL+C is pressed.

Reload data from multiple files

When "Reload data" is clicked and we previously opened data from multiple files, reload the data from all files.

Sharp corners in plot curves result in misleading peaks/valleys

Need to modify the way in which lines are constructed to correct

Allow selecting multiple curves for applying filters/functions, etc.

Log plots are broken since plot scaling is handled by line objects

Need to create special method for handling log scaling

User-defined models for curve fitting

Allow user to specify arbitrary models, maybe even using more than one data channel as input?

For fitting curves, give option to only consider data within zoomed portion of window

Similar to FFT option.
