kevo-unofficial's Issues

Getting correct status so that routines will work reliably.

It seems like the app is capable of getting the correct door status but it often doesnt. I tried messing around with the validation time out with no luck but havent spent a lot of time looking at the code.

It seems like it will check prematurely and either not update the status, or catch the lock mid action and report a jam when there really isn't one.

I'm wondering if you can comment on the feasibility of this. I would be happy to dive in if you dont have the time but if you already know there is some show stopper reason for not getting this to work that might save a lost cause.

Because of this there are a couple of things that will not work when the status is incorrect.

  1. Cannot use the built in lock/unlock support in routines because the routine will see that the door is already (falsely) in the desired end state. So it will choose to do nothing. As in, wont lock when the status is already locked. But the deadbolt itself is really unlocked.

  2. The UI of the app reports the wrong state or jammed when its not.

  3. Alexa will not lock my doors over voice because on attempt it falsely sees the lock as jammed.

Otherwise this is an amazing plugin. I had 2 kevo's for years, they were not great. Very flaky. No automation. The app was slow to get status of the locks.

I got a kevo plus today and linked it to smartthings and it's already way way better. Being able to have a reliable routine to lock my house when I'm away in case I forget would nail it.

Thanks.

Google Assistant Integration

Can you please add virtual switches for locking/unlocking each lock?

Google Assistant does not allow you to lock/unlock locks with voice.

Google Assistant also blocks this feature even if it is part of a routine.

It would be nice to be able to lock or unlock my doors using my Google Home devices.
