• Use ViewBinding (enable it in build.gradle)
• Include viewholders inside adapters, you shouldn't end up with lots of classes

• Use a ViewModel to perform database I/O operations, then perform those operations using

    viewModelScope.launch(Dispatchers.IO) { 
          /* operation here*/
     }

The above snippet is called a kotlin coroutine block. It's very useful when doing I/O (read/write) operations such as SharedPreferences, File.io stuff, reading from storage, opening streams from HTTP, etc etc.
