๐Ÿš€ Project Structure

Inside of the project, you'll see the following folders and files:

โ”œโ”€โ”€ public/
โ”œโ”€โ”€ src/
โ”‚ย ย  โ”œโ”€โ”€ components/
โ”‚ย ย  โ”œโ”€โ”€ layouts/
| โ”œโ”€โ”€ pages/
| โ”œโ”€โ”€ styles/
โ”‚ย ย  โ””โ”€โ”€ utils/
โ”œโ”€โ”€ astro.config.mjs
โ”œโ”€โ”€ README.md
โ”œโ”€โ”€ package.json
โ””โ”€โ”€ tsconfig.json

Astro looks for .astro or .md files in the src/pages/ directory. Each page is exposed as a route based on its file name.

There's nothing special about src/components/, but that's where I like to put any Astro/React/Vue/Svelte/Preact components.

The content of the blog posts is fetched from Vrite, where it is written and stored, and used to build the flat files that are deployed to netlify.

Any static assets, like images, can be placed in the public/ directory.

๐Ÿงž Commands

All commands are run from the root of the project, from a terminal:

Command Action
npm install Installs dependencies
ntl dev Starts local dev server at localhost:8888
ntl build Build your production site to ./dist/
npm run astro ... Run CLI commands like astro add, astro check
npm run astro -- --help Get help using the Astro CLI
