Add date selection functionallity

Add planned features as issues
Migrate to script files to coffee script?
@Benjamin-Threlkeld maybe we want to do this? While you're working out #12 and #3
Migrate to Jekyll
Using Jekyll might be something to consider for this project as it matures. Jekyll would allow significantly better integration with GitHub Pages, making it easier for other forks to get themselves up and running (no building required).
The downside is Jekyll's limited support for template languages, which could cause divergence from our planned Ruby application (and the associated maintenance overhead).
Events don't load
calenders is null
The JS is likely getting itself out of sync and running the parse function before the rest of the script is ready.

two calendar elements are created
@Benjamin-Threlkeld found that there are two root calendar elements <section class="calendar">
elements. This might explain why parse events was running twice. (Thought there was an issue for that, but I can't find it—closed or otherwise)
