Using serde for serialization?

As best as I can tell, serde serialization with rmp_serde should be identical to the hand written one (that I'm not 100% sure is msgpack compliant). Would there be any interest in switching over? I'd be happy to help out with that.

document preferred formatting options

We should have a note documenting our preferred rustfmt configuration.

Add incremental snapshots

The simple solution is to keep track of modified string keys. Then snapshot all nodes when traversed with PathIter.

Add an operation to get the size of a set

Please enable travis

We have a travis file, but the travis builds are not actually enabled. Could someone turn them on to make sure tests are passing? You should be able to do it by going to this page.

Skip serializing labels?

I'm not sure if this is on purpose or not, but the labels serialized to the snapshot are never loaded. Should it just be skipped?

Add counter type

Allow support for listing subtrees.

This is probably just some variation of PathIter.

Add Headers to snapshots

Headers should include checksums of the data on disk as well as application specific data to write out. This application specific data should be a type that implements Serialize and Deseriaize.
