Fellowships

Fellowships can be internships, but also mentorship, training, or open source contribution programs. These are long in duraction (6-12 weeks)

Google Summer of Code	All student	Program for developers new to open-source contribution. Stipend available
✨ Outreachy	All Student	Match students to an open-source project. Stipend available
Bellingcat Tech Fellow	All student	2-6 month self-paced program to work on open source research tools. Stipend available
Trail of Bits	All student	Work on cybersecurity related projects durign winter break. Vulnerability Research and Open Source. Stipend available
Impact Labs Fellowship	All student	2-week program in NYC during winter break. Financial assistance available
Bessemer Fellowship	3rd-year students	8-12 week program. Focused on students from underrepresented backgrounds
Break Through Tech AI Fellowship	All Student	Opens in January 2024. 1 year virtual program starting in the summer . Focused on females/nonbinary students and students from underrepresented backgrounds.

A type of fellowship hosted by NPOs/VCs for matching students to internships.

HackNY Fellowship	Sophomore and up	Provides a shared housing community for NYC interns. Financial aid avaliable. Match a few of the applicants to NYC tech start-ups too
Hack Diversity	All Student	Provides preparation for and high matching rate for students in the Boston and NYC with Summer internships
Bessemer Fellowship	3rd-year students	8-12 week program. Focused on students from underrepresented backgrounds
Susa Summer Fellowship	All student	An immersive summer program that connects high-performing university students to software engineering internships at startups in the Susa portfolio
Coding It Forward Fellowship	All student	Coding it Forward’s Fellowship is a paid, 10-week summer opportunity for early-career technologists. Students are matched with a government entity for an internship experience.

Externships/Insight Series

These are 1-5 day programs designed to help you get to know (and get noticed by) a company. Some are in-person, some includes stipend. Activities include webinars, training, networking event, and hackathon.

✨ DE Shaw & Co Momentum Fellowship	Second-year college students	Currently enrolled in a full-time undergraduate program at a U.S. college or university who self-identify self-identify as part of the LGBTQIA+ community. *$1,500 stipend
✨ DE Shaw & Co Nexus Fellowship	Second-year college students	Currently enrolled in a full-time undergraduate program at a U.S. college or university. We’re always on the lookout for exceptional talent from all backgrounds and identities, and especially encourage applications from students attending schools including (but not limited to) public universities, historically Black colleges and universities (HBCUs), Hispanic-Serving Institutions (HSIs), and liberal arts colleges. *$1,500 stipend
