I think yes. The Problem seems older than expected.
Do you managed to get it working btw?

No ... that is the disadvantage of free software: you can complain if something is not working but not really ...
In this case I would prefer to pay (a reasonable amount for the 2 users that we currently are). I like XMPP and JSXC but it might be better if ressources would be available because they are paid. I can understand that people are reluctant working for free when there is work to be done that gets paid. Unfortunately I don't have the knowledge to help and ... honestly: also work that gets paid - and if it's just the plants in the garden that hopefully bear fruit later on in the year ;-)

I have had that issue before but somehow it worked a couple of years ago. Now I moved my content to another server and since then cannot register anymore

this issue gets duplicates all the time - wouldn' it be worth to look into it?
