Hi!

I'm a software engineer and open source community member. Most of my coding activities center around the Python data science stack. In particular, I'm a core maintainer of Dask and I work at Coiled where I focus on scaling Python. Previously I studied at the University of Wisconsin-Madison where I received my PhD in Physics.

Refactor comptools

Refactor comptools by removing analysis/ subpackages

Add function to make gifs

Something like

from comptools.plotting import save_gif

# Get image files (allow for wildcards)
image_files = ['/path/to/some_image.png', '/path/to/many/images_*.png']

save_gif(image_files, 'output.gif', duration=1)

The use case I have in mind is saving unfolded flux plots for each unfolding iteration.

Run Travis CI tests in conda environment

Switch to running Travis CI tests in conda environment instead of the default virtual environment

Make get_paths more flexible

Add additional input parameters to comptools.base.get_paths() that allow users to specify directory paths (e.g. figures_dir=/custom/path/to/dir)

Add energy_reco option to load_sim and load_data

It would be nice to have the option whether or not to perform energy reconstruction. Currently it is always done.

Add API documentation

Add sphinx API documentation for comptools package

Add Travis CI integration

Have Travis CI run tests
