The source is of revision 4398.
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Create an object (for example, drag and drop an image).
2. Add the security capability to the object.
3. Set the 'Everybody else' permissions to 'view' -> 'granted', 'modify' ->
'denied'. It should show the number 5 in the object properties window.
4. Set the 'admin group' permissions to 'view' -> 'granted', 'modify' ->
'granted'. The number is also 5 for some strange reason.
5. log in as a guest and try to modify the object.
Expected result: error message and no changes
Actual result: modifications take place without any error messages.

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. teleport far from an object, and back again before it has unloaded.
2. repeat until it breaks.
What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
expect object to either unload and load, or remain loaded.
instead, it causes a deadlock between 3 threads.
Please provide any additional information below.
Error Log: http://tom01278.pastebin.com/wLksTnXv
"Thanks for the report. This is definitely a 3-party deadlock in the client:
1. the Darkstar receiver thread (AnonymousIOService-13) can't make
progress because it needs the cell's lock to unload it
2. the cell's lock is held by the status changer (pool-7-thread-1),
which is trying to load the cell's shared map
3. the cell's shared map is waiting for a message from the Darkstar
server (pool-31-thread-1), which it won't receive because the Darkstar
thread is blocked
Can you file an issue in the issue tracker, and attach the error report to
the issue? I think you could reproduce this with a PDF viewer loading and
unloading frequently -- it looks like the bug is triggered when the same
PDF viewer cell is being loaded and unloaded at the same time"

The name tag now has a ragged black "shadow". This is most noticeable when
the name tag is positioned over a white surface. See screenshot. This
problem was recently introduced.

The name tag is not corrupt. I think you are complaining about the shadow,
I've updated the shadow offset and blur intensity in TextLabel2D so it
looks a little smoother.
------- Additional comments from nsimpson Fri Oct 23 02:10:00 +0000 2009
-------
The "corruption" is better, but the name tags still have an excessively
heavy shadow that wasn't there before the recent set of name tag changes.
The shadow should be reduced to 1/3 or 1/2 of the current.

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Do a clean rebuild of Wonderland on a Mac
2. Run the server
3. Connect with Java Web Start after clearing the client cache
What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
The server should start properly. Instead, we see exceptions like the
following in the log, and
unpredictable results:
The system is out of resources.
Consult the following stack trace for details.

WindowSwing.setComponent() is often called from outside the AWT event thread.
When it calls into
embeddedPeer.validate(), Swing operations may be performed, causing a deadlock.

attached stack trace for an example.

1. Create a large object at the origin (like orientation world), and mark it
as a container
2. Add the security component, and disable modification
3. As an unprivileged client, come into the world and do not move
4. Add an object like a sticky note.
The unprivileged client should not be allowed to add content, since it
should try to create a child of the large object. The create works, however,
because the server-side proximity code has not recognized that the new
client is in the proximity of the large object.

Using control-mouse-drag or the scroll wheel, a user can set a camera view
that is far from the default setting. They then have trouble getting back
to a reasonable camera position. It would be helpful to add a menu command
to "Reset camera" to return the camera to the default position.

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. In the Arches Virtual world position the avatar with the back to the
arches and facing towards the pool.
2. Rotate the avatar left and right within that general direction.
3. At a rotation which seems to be pointing down the axis in this direction
the graphics are seen to jump.
What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
It is expected that the view pans smoothly as the avatar view is rotated.
Instead an annoying graphical jump is observed as the rotation of the
avatar seems to cross one 3D Axis.
What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Wonderland 0.5 milestone 3 on Mac OS X 10.6 (though I believe the same
problems has been observed on Windows XP, Windows Vista and Windows 7).
Please provide any additional information below.
Description of how to reproduce the bug is to the best of my memory as I
don't have Wonderland open while writing this. If I have made a mistake
particularly if the direction where the glitch happens is wrong I will
update the issue.

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Have the avatar collision enabled
2. Disable collision on an in-world model (in my case, a building)
3. Try to walk through the building
What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
I would expect to be able to pass through the wall, since there's no
collision on the model. Instead, I get stuck at the wall and the console
spews out tons of stacktraces.
What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?

The text chat window is covered by the gesture HUD when gestures are
enabled via Window-->Gestures.
Selecting "Hide Gestures" does not solve the problem because the Hide
Gestures button still covers the text entry area on the text chat window.
------- Additional comments from nsimpson Tue Sep 1 17:09:10 +0000 2009 -------
Fix for FCS.
This is a z-ordering issue for HUD windows. The Gesture buttons should
never be above the text chat window. HUD buttons should probably have a
default z-order which is one less than HUD windows. HUD window stacking
order should change when a window is selected, so that the selected window
is moved to the top of the stacking order.
------- Additional comments from nsimpson Mon Oct 26 21:26:04 +0000 2009
-------
Changed priority: nice to fix for 0.5 fcs.

When certain multimesh evolver avatars are dragged in, the lighting is
incorrect -- the face and
body seem to be lit by opposite lights. The root cause of this issue is that
the normal maps on the
torso are not loaded correctly, and the specular map is used instead, causing
incorrect results.

If a module fails to install, there is no feedback as to why it failed.
Typically this is due to an unmet dependency. There should be at least a
message in the server log about why the install failed.

In certain circumstances, the Wonderland web server freezes for as long as 2
- 3 minutes. During this time, many world operations (like login) don't
work.
See https://wonderland.dev.java.net/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=789 for some
background.

The bounds in the orientation world module are incorrect. In orientation-
wfs/orientationworld-wlc.xml, the bounds are:
<bounds>
<type>BOX</type>
<radius>500.0</radius>
</bounds>
The correct format is:
<bounds>
<type>BOX</type>
<x>500.0</x>
<y>100.0</y>
<z>500.0</z>
</bounds>
This affects the container component, among other things.

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Run swing application via Shared Application Server (eg, Netbeans)
2. open a file in the application
3. try to press the enter key or the tab key (just examples)and they don't
work.
What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
The keys should be captured by the swing application. Instead there is no
response
What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?

When a client adds content to the world, but doesn't have permission to
modify the current container, the add fails silently. It should print an
error message so the client knows that the add has been rejected.

By default, the webdav client tries to reuse connections within a single
webdav hierarchy. So for Wonderland, there should only be a single, shared
connection to the web server.
Due to the way we create webdav resources, however, we are disabling this,
meaning the system was using a separate connection for each webdav resource.
Since these connections think they are going to be reused, they are not
being closed when the request is finished. We need to fix the webdav
resource behavior to properly share the underlying HttpConnectionManager
object, so that the connection is reused. This should also speed up webdav
operations -- like viewing the content repository -- significantly.

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.Select "Add Placemark..." to create a personal placemark
2.Log on to a different Wonderland snapshot or server (I'm not sure which)
3.Use the placemark in the different world
What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Ideally, the placemark should just take you to the specified coordinates in
the current world. Instead, you see a skybox and the client hangs.

Updates to X app window data are sent using a simple run-length encoding.
The encoding is done in the Xremwin native code in rle.c, and decoding
happens in ClientXrw.displayRectRle24().
It appears that the initial X application window is not encoded. The window
is sent in SlaveForwarder.Welcomer.run(), and received in
ServerProxySlave.initialHandshake().
It may be that encoding the entire window is too costly, either due to CPU
time or insufficient compression levels. Investigate whether this
optimization is worthwhile.

Logging on to the community server causes the client to hang, either with
an exception or an out of memory error. Root cause seems to be an
interaction between appbase and MT-Game:

Attachments:
1. Dialling out with private unticked makes the orb, and the orb's name
goes red when they talk, but I can' hear or speak to them.
2. When I dial into world, and choose to connect to phone 100, the
client I have in-world's softphone disconnects. Clicking reconnect fixes it.
3. Choosing the orb of someone who dialled in and clicking "hang up"
doesn't hang them up or get rid of the orb, but makes it unclickable.
4. As mentioned before, currently no way of changing a Virtual Phone's
number.
5. If you're at a location far away from the starting location, the orb
does not seem to appear when you make a phone call.
6. There's no hang-up button on the call dialogue box. I think the Call
button itself used to change to Hang Up or Disconnect, but this no longer
seems to happen. Particularly if no orb shows up, it's impossible to tell
if the connection has been closed.
Meant to be like this. Important: if the orb is not shown, or
unclickable, you can not end the call!
7. When dialling in, it says there is no-one in range, even when there is.

I logged in as admin, made sure that the admin user is in the admin group,
and tried to deploy a model to the server using the Insert->Model...
window. But the 'please wait...' never disappears, and in the error log
there are such lines:
SEVERE 19:43:24

java.io.IOException: Server returned HTTP response code: 401 for URL:

Insert Firefox and open its Properties window.
Select 'Show in HUD'
- The Firefox main window and the Properties window appear on the HUD (correct)
Move the Properties window on the HUD
- The Properties window snaps to the right and refuses to move (incorrect)
It should be possible to move secondary windows on the HUD independently of
primary windows. Should secondaries move when primaries move as they
currently do?

Make sure all instances of "Project Wonderland" are replaced with "Open
Wonderland".
From larrytek:
