weeprowl's Issues

Disable weeprowl while active

Request an addition of the inverse of the away_notification setting.

It would be extremely convenient to have a way of auto-disabling notifications while active in irc.
My current solution is to use screen_away.py to load/unload the script.

Allow the ability to set a global prowl priority level, or a per-type level

I would like to be able to receive all highlight, privmsg, etc. notifications, but I never need the sound even when I leave my phone's ringer (/iPad's notification switch) on. I'd like to be able to configure priority levels either on a per type basis (highlight, privmsg, ctcp, etc.), or as granular as you can reasonably make it.

If I can set highlight messages with a priority of -2 (Very Low), I can configure Prowl to not a play a sound in that priority level.

It might be overkill to be able to do this on a per-server/per-channel basis, but maybe someone wants to be able to kill notifications outright from one particularly chatty room. Or perhaps one with a bot that causes lots of extraneous notifications (ex. commit/build announcer bot).

Message when User speaks in privmsg

Possible unintended behavior in privmsgs:

When the User (person using weechat) speaks in a privmsg, and the conditions for sending a notice are met (active/away), a notice is sent for every privmsg the owner sends inside a privmsg buffer.

Is this the intended behavior? I would suggest that a User would know they are speaking, and that such notices are redundant.

Only send prowl messages when "away"

It would be awesome if this plugin only send prowl notifications when I wasn't actually using weechat. When I'm in front of my computer, I already see highlights pretty quickly and don't need my phone buzzing all the time.

It should be not too difficult to add the timer logic from the auto-away script http://www.weechat.org/scripts/source/auto_away.py.html/ to make it so prowl notifications are only sent after I'm idle for some amount of time.

I probably don't know enough python to write this myself unfortunately. Thanks for the great plugin!

Weeprowl blocks execution of Weechat when submitting notification

I switched to weeprowl a few weeks back because it supports the ability to get non-privmsg notifications pushed via prowl. I run weechat from a server, and if I get highlighted, I (Currently) have no better way of being made aware than prowl.

However, since doing so, weeprowl blocks the execution of weechat while the plugin connects to the Prowl API and submits the notification. I love Prowl, but it's not exactly the quickest web service at times.

Per FlashCode (Weechat developer) in it's IRC channel, you can get around this by using the hook_process("url:...") function, instead of making calls directly.
