The irony is that word-wrap: break-word was added because old versions of IE would break the layout by expanding the grid item to fit content that was too wide for it. :-p

I'll take a look at this soon. We should at least be able to put the word-wrap property in the IE-only bits of the CSS.

That's really interesting; those things always come back to bite you with IE :-P

just a quick thought: Maybe "word-wrap: normal" coupled with a css selector like > * (all child elements) confined to the IE parts might do the trick. Afair that behaviour can be triggered in IE7+ without too much CSS wizardry.

Hmm… actually, you need word-wrap: break-word on all the child elements since they are the ones that likely contain the really long content, e.g. <p> elements.

I changed this selector so it only applies to IE6 and IE7 as I'm fairly certain its only those old browsers that broke by auto-expanding the elements to fit the content.
