Bestemor

Bestemor is a simple offline web app clock and calendar display for the elderly.

Created using create-react-app and Material UI.

Installing

The application is meant to be run on an iPad. To install, nagivate to steinholt.no/bestemor/ from the tablet, press the "share" button in Safari and select "add to homescreen". The open the app from the icon on the home screen.

non-react alternative with CANVAS

Happened to stumble upon your Hub.

FYI:
I did some research on this 2 years ago and created a HTML file because I couldn't find anything that would work by installing one off-line HTML file on a Tablet.

No libraries or Frameworks, 800 lines (400 for CANVAS) in one HTML file

screen can be portrait or landscape
multiple languages as well

Biggest issue is not the software but the hardware. It is nearly impossible to keep the Tablets alive and ALWAYS show ONLY the webpage.
For my mother I had to resort to a regular PC
