DEPRECATED Please use win-ca which is smaller, works in node 8 and has less dependencies than this module.

Read certificates from the Windows Cert Store from node.js.

Installation

npm i windows-certs

Usage

var certs = require('windows-certs');

certs.get({
  storeName: 'CertificateAuthority',
  storeLocation: 'LocalMachine'
}, function (err, certs) {
   console.log(certs);
});

The returned object certs is a object like this:

{
  "subject": "CN=hello.com, O=Internet Widgits Pty Ltd, S=Some-State, C=AU",
  "issuer": "foo bar",
  "thumbprint": "...",

not working with node 6.9.1 with the edge version in package.json

It works after I update the edge version in package.json to 6.5.1. Could you update the version? Thanks.

edge version is very old

Depends on edge module

This module depends on edge. edge used to be supported module now its management is paid for. edge does not follow the updated versions of Node.js. Installation of windows-certs and edge fails with precompile error.

This dependency renders windows-certs unusable.

How can I get the private key embedded inside the certificate

I created a p12 file with the certificate and private key and installed it in the certificate store. How can I get the private key buffer using this library?
