jesc's Issues

DYS 4in1 30A Motor 1 not syncing

Hello i'm having issues with DYS 4in1 30Amp ESC its a A-H-30 firmware, i'm running 24khz jesc.
Using CLRACINGF7 FC.
No matter what i do my motor 1 always jitters/shutters on arm and then it does bip bip (reboot?) and doesn't spin anymore.
Already Tried:
*Soldering it to another motor output on the FC
*Using another motor
*Used 4 ESC's (all same brand/model) same result.
*Tested 48/92khz versions
*Tested 80% of startup power values
*Tested every possible value of demag compensation/timing
*have a similar issue on my tinyhawk s when running on 1s battery. 2s works.

when i set set dshot_bitbang=off esc wont work anymore
It may work obsessionally for 1 flight then it fails again without any changes.

Any ideas?

ESCs can't arm and don't beep after flashing JESC (works OK reflashing to regular blheli_s)

I have these Aikon SEFM 30A ESCs running C-H-15 that fall completely silent after flashing to JESC (latest version configurator as at 16 Oct 2019). They also won't arm. This is totally independent of the FC and FC firmware. When power is connected to ESC+Motor without FC, I don't even get the first usual beeps when power is applied.

The situation is reversible by reflashing with regular BLHeli_S. It is also repeatable: I have alternated between JESC and regular BLHeli_S at least 3 times now to test this.

The JESC firmware and telemetry flashing was done with all suggested/allowed defaults and there appeared to be no errors during the flashing process (log attached).

iFlite Cinebee 75HD Hybrid 4K - 3 ESCs flash, last one will not

I have bought a total of 8 licenses so far and have not had any success flashing JESC on any BLHeli_S ESC that I own, so far, and no ability to get the licenses back it seems?

I tried flashing JESC on my Cinebee as per subject, this has an iFlite SucceX 16x16 stack with BLHeli_S 4-in-1.

I am able to flash the first 3 ESCs, but the license button is greyed out so I can't enable RPM telemetry on them anyway. The 4th ESC fails to flash, even with ignore layout checked.

I have attached the debug log. Please assist, because I feel like I've just wasted money at this stage. Thank you in advance.

Flash aborted

Hi.

I use the new betafpv F4 2-4S AIO Brushless Flight Controller 20A(BLHeli_S).

With Jesc I have read the setup and inverted 2 motors. There is all ok, the quad flies.

Then I have buyed 4 licenses for rpm filtering. After reading the esc setup i see only 1 or 2 or 3 esc. Then I have flashed the esc and every flash is termiated with an error.

I attach the log.

Now I cann not fly. The esc not works.

Thanks, Peter

Holybro Kakute F7

Kakute F7 is not listed as compatible to Jesc. I would like to know if this FC is on pipeline to be able to work with Jesc.

One ESC Cannot be Read

I have one ESC on a GEP-F722-35A flight controller that has invalid characters that cannot be read and will not allow me to manually select and flash firmware. I have followed the steps as best as possible in the trouble shooting guide with no luck. Would be very grateful if there is a solution. Thanks :-)

I have attached the debug log.

ESC 1 and ESC 4 Wont read anymore

I attempted to flash to 48khz then to 96khz
Disconnected then noticed by beta65x wouldnt do anything.

Now when I connect to jesc only esc 2 and esc show up.

Pull license from ESCs

Hi there,
JESC is really outstanding stuff and it works much more reliably than the free alternative.
While on one side I am very happy that the cost is reasonable (adding 5EUR to my 24EUR 4 in 1), I am still quite hesitant about flashing all my whoop ESCs. The reason for that is the very low reliability of these all in one whoop boards: I have about 10 of them laying around with this or that component being broken. Therefore I would like to ask whether you have considered allowing users to pull the license off a defective board (if a mosfet burns I can still connect to the ESCs with the configurator) so that they can use it on another. For whoop boards this could be a real life saver (while for other ESCs this will probably not make a big difference - I have only burned 2 4-in-1's in over 2 years).
Best,
Fabian

ESC 1 missing

Hello,
i have a problem with BETAFPV FC Toothpick F4 2-4s AIO BLHELI-S. After licensing all 4 ESCs i cklicked flash all. A message appeared asking me to update to BF 4.1. Did that in BF Configurator (MambaF411 (Diat) 4.1.5). Returned to JESC Configurator. ESC 1 was missing. I flashed ESC 2 to 4 (also Telemetry) without problems. Read Setup a few times.
Then i tried a different BF version (Mamba F411 (Legacy) 4.1.1). Same result.
Followed the instructions in troubleshooting guide, so here is the github issue.
Hope it is no hardware issue, the board just arrived today.
Thank you.

Motor wires de-soldering on Nameless AIO 412(T)

I came across a very strange issue - unfortunately not personally, but I have now heard from two people that the solder joints of the motors get so hot after flashing JESC that the motor wires de-solder. Re-flashing the original version of BLHELI_S does not seem to solve the issue.

One of those cases (and attempt of debugging) is documented in the comments here => https://brushlesswhoop.com/blheli_s-rpm-filter/ NLRC 412T, 1206 motors on 3S, BF4.1 RC1.

Another case I came across on Facebook just now - NLRC 412T, 1304 motors on 4S.

Interestingly enough I have no problems on my NLRC AIO 412 with 1103 motors on 2S, BF4,1 RC1.

I would like to help debugging, but I am not sure which information I can help out with.

Custom Startup Tones

I am very happy with the JESC firmware and the RPM filtering that it enables. One thing that would be cool to have are custom startup tones. I already like that it's different from the stock firmware. If you could point out the part in the code where the startup tone is defined we could customise it ourselves. (I am fairly new to programming but I have a lot of determination to figure out things.)
Thank you for your great work and I am happy to support it in any way I can.

Turtle mode does not reverse motors

I am using a Spedix IS20 4-in-1 with JESC-G15 (2.1) firmware installed and a Talon F7 V2. RPM telemetry is working but it seems turtle mode is no longer reversing my motors. I normally fly props out but I flipped everything to standard rotation and turtle mode still behaves the same way. Let me know if there is any other information I could provide. Thanks for any assistance and for porting it in the first place.

EFM8BB1 Targets

Is there a hardware limitation regarding having this work on EFM8BB1 targets?

Does it fit in memory? I feel like it would be very useful even at reduced dshot rates, particularly for micros and whoops.

unable to flash or activate esc1 in a hglrc F-H-40 4in1

i am able to fully flash all versions of blheli-s firmware to all 4 esc's thru the original blheli app
i am also able to flash the JESC F-H-40 .hex to all 4 esc's thru the blheli app..
but thru the JESC configurator it ALWAYS fails on flashing the esc1 but will flash and activate and upload telemetry to the other 3 NO problem at all

ESC motor direction not passthough to betaflight correctly.

Flashed ESCs, tested motors in betaflight all motors where correct orientaion.
Armed the quad all motors were the opposite than tested in betaflight.

Reversed direction in JESC, betaflight motor direction no change same orientation as before arming quad all motors are in the correct orientaion.

1 of 4 esc failed at flashing

Hi Team,
I stupidly disconnected the usb cable whlile flashing the escs on my Mobula6.
So now I can see
ESC1 to 3: JESC-OHR-48 (2.3) with Telem. - activatedd, licensed and
at ESC4 just: ESC-OHR-48 (2.3) - licensed
Please don't get confused, i flashed the first three esc "manualy" with Telemetry... I know ... I know, sorry for that.
When I try to reflash the 3 seperatly, it shows for a sec. or so the words "- activatedd, licensed" at its headline, but then it disappear.

Thax for your help in advance

Betafpv F4 AIO 1-2s - Mosfet fried during flashing JESC

JESC first shown flashing failed for esc #3, after disconnect / reconnect, esc #3 can no longer be detected.

Looking at the board, it look like a mosfet might be dead (see pic).

Log attached, if it can help root causing so it doesn't happen to other in the future.

2 of 4 ESCs no longer detected

I flashed 4 escs with the rpm and telemetry. Everything worked no errors when spinning in betaflight motor tab. I bound the crsf receiver and used the controller armed the quad. Only 2 motors were spinning. 2 motors have 100% error now. Only 2 show up in jesc config now. can you tell me how to fix this?
