Sputnik

An interpreted C-like programming language called Sputnik.

I am writing this to learn how programming languages are built, and how interpreters work under the hood. This language is not being written to be used anywhere.

sputnik's Issues

Extend Sputnik to allow different "number" types (floats etc)

Terminal print statements should go through a central "printer" so that colour can be applied

For example, error messages should be printed in red, and therefore fed through a "PrintError()" method.

Allow for evaluation of expressions

Error in ast_go: "Cannot use &(Identifier literal) (value of type *Identifier) as Expression value in struct literal: missing method expressionNode"

Add error handling to parser

Currently, if the parser encounters an error if silently ignores it. This causes debugging to be pretty difficult.

If the peekToken() method results in an error, we should probably return some sort of exception.

Allow for evaluation of postfix operators

Postfix operators are operators located after an operand.

For example, incrementing an identifier with a postfix operator would look like the following:

identifier++

Add exit status for REPL

Define (and possibly extend) allowed identifier (variable) name characters
