Hi,

Just like most packages built with automake, one can create a tarball just by running make dist.

Alternatively, make distcheck compiles the software, runs the test suite, and eventually build packages.

If you need to cross-compile for a different architecture, you can use ./configure --host=...
If you want to optimize for a specific CPU, export CFLAGS="optimization flags".

Well, unfortunately, i want to work with git-buildpackage (which would be nice for you too, because you could pull my debianization-branch later) and the step from autogen.sh to ./configure makes problems. not the build, but after the autogen.sh there are suddenly new files, which are not recognized by dpkg-source. But i will try on :)
