Please add a feature to pause media during an incoming call. As the screen show 
the caller id when the phone rings, it is impossible to pause the media.

Searching for "boxeeremote" or "boxee remote" in android market yields no 
results. My guess is that this is because the application is not market as 
compatible with the screen resolution of HTC Wildfire (320 x 240).

Would like to enter a simple password to start using boxee remote.

I have put 2 boxee boxes in my Pub to control 2 separate screens. Love it and 
so do my customers.

But I don't want everybody with a smart phone being able to change the channel 
on a whim.

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.play song 
2.the gui drops you back main large android nav button or menu 
3.to stop the song you have to click now playing (yellow tag icon) and then 
really fastly press stop before it switches back to the main gui nav screen

cover art should stay up and allow you to play, stop, pause, etc and allow you 
to press another button to go back to the main menu if you want to leave music 
running and do other things.

Expected to return to the previous application or home screen.
Instead, BoxeeRemote stays active. This breaks assumptions on how an 
android application is supposed to work (IE Back button should always take 
you back to where you were). This is what lead some users to request a 
"Quit" feature

- I grabbed the source and debugged a bit.  I found that on line 68 of
BlickingHttpRequest an exception is handled which sets mSuccess = false;
and eventually throws the error described above.  

- The puzzling thing is when I hit the URL from the browser of the machine
with Boxee running, and use "localhost" instead of the IP, it works. 
However, when I hit the link using the 192.168.0.160 IP, no luck.  The
browser returns an error regarding authentication, although I am using the
same UserName/PW: 

Access Error: Unauthorized

Access Denied Unknown User

-I forwarded the ports and opened them in my firewall.  Not sure what is
going on here.  Just ask for more info if you need.  Thanks for starting
this app, it will be very useful.

I love Boxee and this awesome remote.

I have 2 boxee boxes in my restaurant both on the same network, and another 
boxee at the office. Right now I am using different phones to control each 
boxee separately.

But it would be great to be able to swap my preferred server on the fly. At the 
moment when I try to change server I get messages like "can't find preferred 
server - please scan..." but I can't find a scan button, so I end up restarting 
my phone and restarting the app after clearing caches on the phone and deleting 
the boxee remote's stored data. Bit of an ordeal.

Again, love the app and boxee. Great work and thank you.

First I wanted to note that I had been using this app for about a week or 2
and had no problems with it, loved it. However I had to restore my phone
and I can no longer find the app on the market.

But I also have a request... I unfortunately am stuck using Boxee on a
standard definition tv that is quite small. This makes it hard to read the
fonts. If it is at all possible, I'd like to see a text-based boxee menu
integrated to the android app. Something that at least displays the title
of what you're hovering over as you navigate through Boxee's menu.

I don't use my gmail email often and have only just visited this page. If

Some users on the Market commented that the UI could look better. I agree.

It's somewhat superficial in relation to the other work we have planned. Then 
again, this is the kind 
of thing some users care about, so we should make them happy.

1. Use nav to start a DVD.
2. Can't access menu to start the movie, or access the menu after it is playing.

With Boxee DVD, you have to hit the "select" button to produce a menu of 
options, including "DVD Menu".  The other options (pause, start/stop, rev, 
forward) are given buttons to get around this, but the DVD Menu is not one of 
them.  If you hit the back button to get back to the 5-way control, it exits 
the movie screen on Boxee, so the 5-way no longer has access to the DVD menu.

One solution, that solves half of the problem, is to add a DVD Menu button next 
to the forward button that shows only when the DVD is playing.  That  way you 
can access the DVD menu.

The other half of the problem comes when the DVD has an animation on main menu 
screen.  Because the animation is playing, the play/pause, rew, forward buttons 
appear, and you no longer can access the 5-way to move the cursor through the 
DVD menu items.  You also can't select the "Play Movie" item to start the 
movie.  The solution needed is to be able to pull up the 5-way nav while the 
DVD is still playing, without exiting the DVD screen in Boxee.

Currently the remote only works via wifi and many users either do not run
and or do not want to run wifi. In addition many more feel that the setup
via wifi is complicated.

Solution: add bluetooth support so that the remote can work using bluetooth
instead of wifi. This will also be great for uses who use these devices
stand alone and do not even have them connected to a network at all! For
example now a user who has boxee or xbmc on a car computer can control it
from their phone! There are also many other users who have needs for
bluetooth support and as the number of users of these two programs increase
the need for bluetooth support grows as well.

1.Start video
2.Enter settings to adjust real time audio and video settings
3.Attempt to use the X button or back arrow to escape back to movie

Should work as though escape key was hit and close the video/audio settings
menu and go back to the movie that is still playing in the back ground. 
Instead there is no way to exit without using a connected keyboard and
hitting escape button.

Apparently the @ on the keyboard doesn't work, though I haven't tested this.

The problem is isolated to BoxeeRemote.onKeyDown(). mRemote.mHost is null so it 
leads to an 
exception.

Thx for an excellent product. Works like a charm on my legend.

I have a pretty extensive suggestion. 

With the up-comming boxee box you will have to turn on your TV set even when 
you just want to listen to music from your own collection or an internet radio 
station.
If it was possible to build in an opportunity in the remote to browse an select 
amongst you own files and the internet radio stations (a la what´s available 
for the Sonos and the squeezebox also on android) it would be fantastic.

When I touch the Now Playing bubble it shows the Now Playing screen for 1 
second and then switches back to the control screen with the arrows and ok 
button on it.

2. Touch the Now Playing bubble in quickly flashes the Now playing screen and

I would expect the now playing screen to stay active and allow me to use the 
player buttons (play, pause, previous, next).  Instead the Now Playing screen 
flashes and then goes away.

Would it be possible to use the phone's hardware back button as a back button 
in boxee, without leaving the app? 

There should be a play/pause button. I'm not sure where it should go in the
UI, but it shouldn't be hard to get the buttons to do the right thing.

Here is a patch and some new drawables that make it look good.  Shouldn't break 
any versions below honeycomb.

1.Produce a notification message. Ex. Click on buttons without connecting 
to a boxee\xbmc server

Expect notification messages to be unobtrusive.
Instead, they obscure parts of the UI.

We should integrate this fix with our general revamping of the UI.

This is just a feature request... it would be great if the program could send a 
wakeup magic packet to the specified ip... (ususally my box sleeps though the 
day ;)

It would be wise to refactor the code so that all boxee\xbmc-related logic 
is separate and distinct from the UI.

It looks like some moves have been made already to correct this issue. 
However, more needs to be done.

Ideally, our Object Model should allow us to release all the remote control 
logic as a Java library that others can use.

I can not find a way to contact the owner, i can't find a mailing list. 
Therefore i have no way to upload new releases since it seems as if this
project is dead.  I would like to help code and progress this application a
little further.  How do i go about helping this project?

It would be really great if you offered a second mode where you could offer a 
full user interface to the Boxee so that you see what you are doing on the 
phone and not on the TV.  That way I could scroll through my music collection 
looking for what I want to play and select it all from the phone - no TV 
involved in any way.

I think it would be nice to have a setting to invert the trackball.  Turning 
the phone upside-down is a more comfortable remote-like position.

howto use, however the comments on the market place are not selectable
text; you can't copy the weblink or click it.

When clicking on the "visit the developers webpage", it goes to your home
page, not the google code page. Your home page doesn't have any mention of
Boxeeremote under your apps, and there is no obvious link to here.

I think this is more a problem with market place. Developers webpage should
point to the developers webpage -there should be an obvious link to the
googlecode/homepage for EACH APPLICATION.
However, until they fix this, I'd suggest you either change the link or
make sure you link to here from your website.
Users are lazy, and not being able to copy/paste or click myself to the
instructions meant i've ended up jumping on the computer.
