Mario VS Donkey Kong no sound plus controls messed up

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Place BIOS file in /GBA GX/BIOS/BIOS.GBA
2. Start Mario VS Donkey Kong.GBA (any version)

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Sound plus normal controls are expected
Getting no sound, and when jumping Mario also walks to the left.

What version of the product are you using?
1.01

Please provide any additional information below.
I think it used to work in the old version (1.00), but then it was too slow
to be of any use.

Can't save in MarioKart Super Circuit

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Play MarioKart Super Circuit
2. Play a Time Trial
3. When you finish the Time Trial, choose "Quit" to save

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Expected: Progress/record is saved.
What I see: The game shows an error message stating that data could not be
saved.

What version of the product are you using?
1.0.2

Please provide any additional information below.
I tried saving with another game (Kirby & the Amazing Mirror) and it worked
fine, so I know it's not an issue with all saves. MK:SC is the only game
I've seen so far that can't save. I must also emphasize that the error I
see is the game's error message, not the emulator's.

wario ware twisted and Yoshys Univ. Gravitation support "please"

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Not is a problem but I dont know where I can tell you this

There are a litle number of games in GBA with rotation sensor, but one of
this is Wario Ware twisted, and with the wiimote is posible emulate this
"rotation chip".
If you emulates this functions, your emulator will be the best GBA emulator
in all platforms, because in other platforms this is impossible.

No music in Rhythm Tengoku (J)

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. No music or sound on title screen or in minigames.
2. When starting a new game, there is a game with a beeping metronome, that
works correctly, however I was unable to hear sound in any other parts of
the game.
3.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
There should be music throughout the game, but it isn't playing.

What version of the product are you using?
1.0.3

Please provide any additional information below.
As a rhythm game, it's pretty much impossible to play when audio doesn't
work right.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

What version of the product are you using?

Glitchy music in Mother 3

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Playing the japanese game Mother 3
2. During the battles, mostly, music is somewhat glitched up, thus
rendering the combo system in battle pretty much useless
3.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
The battles and music shouldn't be glitched up. It's a bit distracting.

What version of the product are you using?
Visual Boy Advance GX 1.0.3

Please provide any additional information below.
I figure it might be due to the size of the game at 32 MB, so maybe the
emulator just needs to be further tweaked to make those last few generation
games to be able to run at full speed 100% like Mother 3.

Wiimote controls are screwed up

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Use the Wiimote horizontally and try to play games.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
I expected it to work like normal controls, but instead I get what seems
like turbo mode, moving left, and a bunch of other things going on at once.
It seems to happen with every button.

What version of the product are you using?
v1.01

Please provide any additional information below.
I think it may have something to do with the controls config's clashing. I
haven't tried yet, but I'm going to try and make the configs for the rest
of the controls all null.

Mario & Luigi Music issues

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Load the Emu via HBC
2. Loading Mario & luigi - Super Star Saga ROM (both U & E)
3. Waiting to start the game/music.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Upon loading the game, i can't hear some sound channels, you know... like
they were off (the VBA Windows emu has an option to turn off some of them).
So the music sounds "incomplete".

What version of the product are you using?
1.0.3 (Source compiled)

Please provide any additional information below.
This is the only game (from what i tested) with music issues. This happens
with both (E) and (U) dump.

.7z compressed ROMs cannot be loaded from DVD on GameCube with qoob chip.

What steps will reproduce the problem?

1. Try to load a .7z compressed ROM from DVD with VBA on a gamecube with a
qoobchip.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

The ROM should load and decompress. Instead of this the .7z opens up like a
"folder" with the .gba file in it. As soon as you select it and try to open
it, it says "unable to load rom" instead of loading it.

Does this issue occur on VBA-M
r778(http://mudlord.homebrewheaven.net/downloads/vbam_installer.exe)? If
so, please report the issue to the VBA-M forum.

I don't think so.

What version of the product are you using?

I was testing with 1.0.6

Please provide any additional information below.

I tried this with multiple .7z files on a DVD, and it happened with 100% of
them.

Long-Loading times from SD

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Open VBA-GX 1.0.6 from HBC.
2. Load a GBA ROM like Mother 3.
3. Wait for load

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
In VBA-GX 1.0.4 & 1.0.5 takes 5-10 seconds to load a 32 MB ROM like Mother
3, but now takes around 40-50 seconds to load it, similar to the earlier
VBA releases for Wii.

Does this issue occur on VBA-M
r778(http://mudlord.homebrewheaven.net/downloads/vbam_installer.exe)? If
so, please report the issue to the VBA-M forum.

Aspect Ratio

I guess this is more of an improvement than a defect, but I didn't see an
option for choosing.

The GBA's aspect ratio should be 3:2, yet it displays at 16:9 on a
widescreen TV, and at 4:3 on a SDTV or on a widescreen TV with 16:9
correction turned on. Would it be possible to correct it to 3:2 from either

Loading GBA roms from SMB

Hi,

GB and GBC roms load perfectly.

There are some problems when trying to load GBA roms from SMB

Here are some test using VBA-wii 1.0.6, using a 16MB rom.

Loading form a directory with lots of files:
7z_normal - Error opening archive!
7z_ultra - Error opening archive!
gba - Invalid network settings - Check settings.xml; Error loading game!
rar_normal - Unknown game image!
rar_best - Unknown game image!
zip_normal - Invalid network settings - Check settings.xml
zip_best - Unknown game image!
Trying to change directory: Error opening; Error reading directory!

Loading from a directory with only this rom:
7z_normal - Loads correctly.
7z_ultra - 7z: Out of memory; Error loading game!. When selecting again it
loads correctly.
gba - Loads correctly.
rar_normal - Unknown game image!
rar_best - Unknown game image!
zip_normal - Loads correctly.
zip_best - Unknown game image!
Trying to change directory: OK.

It looks like a memory error, maybe you can clear the memory used for the
game list before it start to load the rom, but i don't know if that's
possible or easy. Also, consider this issue as low priority, because it
works perfectly with only few files on the directories.

Thanks.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
The expected output is that the save file will exist in the game, but as
soon as you exit it never saves your account. I have played through the
first 2 levels and exited, and my data was still not saved.

Speed problems / bad frameskipping

In many of the games the frameskip causes them to be unplayable.
Some examples would be:
The Kirby games -- enemies flash all over the screen.
Mother3 -- Music combos are impossible due the the frameskip.
MarioKart -- driving is horribly affected at times.

Those are all that I have tried so far, but that means that many games are
unplayable due to the frameskip. If there was some way to make a version
which can go fast without frameskip, but use a speed limiter, it would make
all of the unplayable games playable. Also, many games will run smoother.
VBA-M can run at 100% speed without frameskip, and a source is avaible,
maybe that could be experimented with.

Especially noticeable in Golden Sun series, but whenever
