Future roadmap discussion

The current server has been busted for a while, and I've been away from devops stuff long enough that I'm super slow at debugging the cause of the 500s.

I can think of a few ways to take this project:

1. just bump dependencies and consider moving the service to a less opsy PHP host, like a hosted heroku thing
2. rewrite using node, but that still means my server is temporarily serving images, which seems like an opportunity for misuse
3. replace the service backend with a canvas-based library that generates sprites in the browser. InstantSprite seems to be a thing that already works, and any changes I need might benefit the upstream project as well.

The third option seems most appealing to me, but I'm going to look into all the options over the next week or two and see which actually works. I'll update this bug as I go along.

500 Server Error for any sprites on spriteme

Hi,
currently one gets a 500 internal server error for anything you do on spriteme.org

Please fix the error, I'd love to use your tool on my website.
