dotfiles's Issues

Dual Monitor setup

Hey, I need your help with something. So i wanted to use your dot files for my fresh Arch Linux Distro. I wanted to ask you that will it work with dual monitor setup?

Amazing Job on the Rice BTW, Thanks for providing us the Dots🙏

Using the eww bar

I already have an existing bspwm setup, I only wish to replace my polybar with a eww bar like yours. Still very new to this.

What are the necessary steps?

Change arch dependencies installation command

you should replace this :

paru -S --needed bspwm sxhkd rofi neovim alacritty viewnior picom-arian8j2-git brightnessctl \
playerctl hsetroot maim jq xclip imagemagick dunst i3lock-color xdo giph \
           jgmenu redshift blueman bluetoothctl

by this :

paru -S --needed bspwm sxhkd rofi neovim alacritty viewnior picom-arian8j2-git brightnessctl playerctl hsetroot maim jq xclip imagemagick dunst i3lock-color xdo giph jgmenu redshift blueman bluetoothctl

I know it looks stupid but it make the copy/paste easier for arch users !

feat: support for other resolutions

As the title says. Currently, eww is broken on resolutions other than 1366x768 which can be seen below:
unknown

Image taken from a 1920x1080 screen.

Lockscreen not working.

Everytime I use the shortcut mod+L I see the lockscreen with the picture and desktop name but it gets unlocked in a second without me entering my password.

I looked in ~/.local/bin/lck and deleted the entire i3lock command and only left 'i3lock' It worked that way but the lock screen was not visible its only a grey background with i3lock

error in nvim

image
what's this error does this matter or should i ignore this ? running nvim 0.5.0

setup.sh does not download dependencies

Tested in TTY:

As the name of the issue suggests, the script doesn't properly downloads the dependencies and terminates before doing so.

It should check beforehand if the user has already an AUR helper installed (yay, or paru, among others) and the try to install one if not.

GetUsedRam doesn't work.

"sh ~/.config/eww/scripts/getUsedRam" always returns something along the lines of printf: 20:1476: invalid number and as such doesn't actually work.

not able to make alacritty transparent

i used the following code to make the terminal transparent but it didn't worked

Background opacity

Window opacity as a floating point number from 0.0 to 1.0.

The value 0.0 is completely transparent and 1.0 is opaque.

background_opacity: 0.9

widgets not opening

when i click on the widgets option it doesn't do anything just displays a small black square do i need to install eww and configure it?

System tray

How do I enable the system tray, I tried enabling it in the ~/.config/polybar/config.ini and it didn't work
I added tray-position = right fyi

Keybindings ?

Can u tell where to check for the keybindings and also when fullscreen with eww bar enabled the left side of screen doesnt record mouse input
