Last two days some movies don't run in 1080p any longer (series I've tested for some reason don't seem affected).
I've checked in the Netflix app to be certain they all have 1080p.
For example - Sorry to Bother You, Zodiac, The Big Lebowski, Theory of Everything etc'.
They all run in 960x540.

Is it possible to create also a (release) version that works with Firefox?

In Brave I get the error:
Cannot load extension with file or directory name _metadata. Filenames starting with " _" are reserved for use by the system.

Using 1.28.0

Deleting the _metadata folder dosn't help.

The highest bitrate I can choose is only 720p since today?
Yesterday worked just fine.
Anyone got the same problem?

When will 4k movies be supported? At this point when I try to play a 4k movie it is only played as 1080p.

Can you update your extension from VP09 to AVCHigh on Netflix and play high bitrate of NF ? So I can take max bitrate stream link of video on NF to download that videos ? Because of if NF not play max bitrate I cannot take full bitrate of link stream!

Might be a little bit out of scope, but lkmvip/netflix-4K-DDplus seems to have the option to enable all audio/subtitle options, which can be useful when using a VPN to view a title that isn't available, but it does have audio/subtitle tracks (especially true if the title was previously available in other regions).
I dug around and it seems to be a very simple tweak:

For the current player in the repository it would be inserted after line 126,509, var E would be G, useallSub is the user's choice for enabling the feature in the extension.

I tried to install this extension by renaming the file extension to .rar and unzip it using The Unarchiver from my Mac. But it said the content cannot be extracted.

Extension stopped working on 2024-03-20, as same with (older) truedread.
Shows error UI3013
Disabling extension restores playback, capped to 720p.

Hi, thank you so much for updating the extension. I think the extension can be improved if prk config be enabled alongwith avc? It has 4x more bitrate than just avc mode. The relevant profiles that enable them are:

	"h264mpl30-dash-playready-prk-qc",
	"h264mpl31-dash-playready-prk-qc",
	"h264mpl40-dash-playready-prk-qc",

Example: With mindhunter s01e01, AVC without prk only yields 1500 bitrate. But with prk, AVC goes to 4500+ for the same video.

Also, I think this extension can enable Atmos in MS edge with following profiles:

	"ddplus-5.1-piff",
	"ddplus-2.0-dash",
	"ddplus-5.1-dash",
	"ddplus-atmos-dash", 

But since atmos doesn't work in non-edge browsers, those can be left disabled by default or an option can be included in the extension like disable AVCHigh/VP9.

I know the extension is mainly focussed towards chrome but on Edge, it can really shine since lot of content that only plays 540p on chrome browser works in 1080p on edge with full bitrate in AVC+prk mode. Example: Bullet Train movie.

Finally, I am very grateful for this project as it has really improved our netflix experience. Thanks again!

Seems the resolution is still set to 1080p, using ctrl-shift-alt-q confirms that, a very awkward combo though, shouldnt right click also bright this up?

Hi, I hate netflix for bitstarved 1080p VP9 encoded streams with ridiculous bitrate of 800-1000kbps. I have encountered this so many times. Like, with Witcher. And now with Lucifer series.

But I was surprised to see there is an extension that somehow bypasses VP9 low bitrate streaming. If you were to checkout the following extension on firefox and disable the "Allow Netflix to use VP9 decoding" flag from extension/addon options, the netflix streams will in better quality.

In my case, the netflix video which was streaming at 800-1000Kbps VP9 now streamed at 3000Kbps AV1.

This is great news. I really wish this feature can be ported to chrome. I have requested the original developer for the same. Can this be done?

Since Chrome only lets me launch apps that are available in the Chrome App Store I can't get this app to start. Is there any way to circumvent this?

When the movie is playing, the priority of each code is
av1 > vp9 > avchigh > avc

Watching a show each episode needs to be selected from the home page otherwise pressing "Next episode" will lock the next episode at 720p. This occurs in a different way as well that also affects movies. If the movie/episode is paused for a longer duration the quality also defaults to 720p. Refreshing the page does not fix this issue. The only fix is going back to the home page and starting the episode/movie again.

When I enabled netflix-1080p and NflxMultiSubs extension together.
The NflxMultiSubs extension its can't working
but netflix-1080ps extension still working.

I try with google chrome and microsoft edge. It's still same problem.

The bitrate menu can be opened by pressing ctrl-alt-shift-S but it cannot be interacted with it acts as if part of the video. Clicking on it makes the video pause/play.

Edit 2: audio tracks are also incosistent ( i have 5.1 german but only 2.0 english)(im not even german btw)

If the movie does not support 1080p, it cannot be played,and report the following error.

fyi you need to update to manifest version 3 until the end of the year

I have uninstalled this extension a few days ago from Chrome Canary, and I can't reinstall it since the update...
When I put the *.crx file in chrome extensions, I can add it but it's disable ; I can't enable it because the extension is not in the chrome web store. Developper mode is enable.

Thats the highest i get: Bit rate: 1 121 kb/s . I already checked "Automatically select best bitrate available"

Hello dear developer. netflix-4K-DDplus extension has more "audio bitrate (192-256-348-640 maybe some films or series has more)". Can you do improve this ? I can't use "netflix-4K-DDplus" because the browser can't play 1080p, just can play 720p, but with your extension can play 1080p. Just we need to upgrade the audio bitrate. win 8.1 and win 10

Netflix keeps blocking in the plan with ads, with the extension activated it gives this error M7111-1331, it only works if I deactivate it.
On the Netflix website it says it has Full HD.

By looks of it, a patch has been sent out on Netflix and both Netflix-1080p extensions have stopped working, causing the following error. It also looks like the previous developer has stopped maintaining the extensions unfortunately.

To those users who used this extension 5 months ago or even earlier: did you ever manage to get 5.1 audio? I get good video but it never finds the DD 5.1 audio. Please comment if you are getting 5.1 and give an example of a title.

Also, I believe the instructions for using this extension were never provided. Shortcuts like Ctrl+Alt+Shift+D / S for example were never mentioned. If this is by design to keep it hush, I understand. If not, it would be nice if someone could point me to the full documentation about these commands.
