mc-datapack-map's Issues

Feature: Include Configuration in URL

It would be very nice if you could store the current configuration like settings, selected/used datapacks and map position. The first and last one should be very simple via a JSON file you can store. For the selected DPs maybe it is possible to create one big ZIP file where everything is contained. Then there would also be the config file included.

Feature Suggestion: Biome Searcher

I think it could be useful to give people a way to find the location of certain biome(s) using your map tool.

This doesn't have to be too fancy: for example, have a select menu of the available biomes, and just turn every biome color on the map black or transparent except the biome(s) the user selected. That way, the color of the biome(s) they are searching for will stand from the transparent or black background.

Here's an example where all the nether biomes were set to black, except Warped Forest.

Feature: Allow localization of HTML header meta-tags.

The map already allows localization of its user interface. It also displays datapack content. However, the meta tags in the HTML header remain in English.

Since this page is deployed on GitHub pages, this localization would require pregenerating the HTML.

Can't identify structures with long names

I have no way of telling what each of these structures are, I can't widen the sidebar or copy the text even.
amazing tool btw, it's been so helpful and i love it, great work

[Suggestion] Local world map.

ability to load an existing world's data. multi version worlds may be a problem (e.g Etho's Letsplay world). the intent more being to allow more advanced biome/world gen mods to be processed. similar to that... Amidst? Amist? the original seed viewer one that someone made a forge mod compat and in game viewer thing for...

this would allow additional "world presets" to be loaded from an existing world data and be able to map things like "Better Nether/Better End" dimensions (as well as other modded dimensions). more a longterm goal this one...

Custom End Biomes Do Not Appear

I was testing out new biome colors for Nullscape biomes, but when uploading Nullscape to the site, no Nullscape biomes were to be found. I messed with the y-level slider a bit, but to no regard. I went in game with the exact same datapack copy, and biomes indeed generated, especially at the y-level I took the below screenshot it. Nullscape biomes have been set to appear as shades of purple.

Linked is the exact copy of Nullscape 1.19.3 I used. I should also note - the Nullscape biomes do appear in the "Search Biome" dropdown list.

Feature: Coordinates Marker / Search

Something similar to Chunkbase's coordinates where you can input X and Z coordinates and go to the designated coordinates. Makes it easy than to scroll through the map especially when looking faraway.

Example of Chunkbase coordinate search:

[Suggestion] Seed "finder"

a semi automated way to reroll seeds until a given criteria is met (e.g "mushroom island at 0,0", "desert at spawn", maybe also "structure less than distnace from spawn").
edit because "less than" and "greater than" symbols embeds code...

Support Alphanumeric seeds

Discussed in #35

Originally posted by veradalelabs February 14, 2024
Is it possible to use an alphanumeric value for the world seed?

I can type something in, but it just reverts to zero.

Not sure if this is an issue, or working as intended.

Two Overworlds Appear When Adding Datapack

I attached Terralith for testing, and when I did, I got two overworlds in the list. Both show the same result on the map.

This does not happen when using plain vanilla.

Datapack not loading

Previously I was able to load a certain datapack into this tool, but as of this week it no longer loads. The datapack is completely unchanged, it's the same file I've used in the past. It's about 16mb, if that's relevant. The biomes and structures will load into the search tab just fine, but nothing displayed on the map will change.

Feature: Create custom markers

It would be very nice if you can create custom markers for like multiple bases or POIs. You can then see them in a list and center the map to them if you click them. Would add an extra point to #11

[Suggestion] Seed history/catalogue

-ability to save last few seed values rolled
-option to save seeds to file.
-possible seed catelogue, where users can "share" seeds with a given datapack/version/preset filters. allowing curated searching. catalogue would only store seed and datapack info like name and credit. user would have to provide datapack themselves.

Issues adding data packs

Hello, I'm trying to add the continents mod for testing, but it seems to not be loading. I may be doing something wrong, so any help is appreciated

Seed Generator isn't working

I added Terralith to the data pack and when I randomize a seed or add one in it doesn't have the map display according to the seed, it just stays at the default 0. I don't understand how to get the map to correspond to the seed input. If anyone can help me figure it out or explain how map works that would be great! Thank you!
