I have investigate the MCK and SLCK connection using an oscilloscope. In average the ratio is
SLCK = MCK/3072
They are not staying in synch, but are very close. Note that 3072 = 3/4 of 4096.
There is a lot of documentation in internet claiming that TIMER_CLOCK5 is using divider 1024. Obviously that is wrong.
It is very useful to have SLCK available for users who need times longer than 200 ms (5 Hz). With SLCK, the longest time is 4.7 seconds (0.2 Hz).
There is some additional timer related documentation in github for DueTC (I am the author of that)
from duetimer.
