On a phone this should show a phone-optimized UI and show general activities, not TV activities

This doesn't look good on a TV as it's just a few buttons.

• Shift to a dark theme instead of the hacky version
• On a phone, use a Material w/ toolbar
• On a TV, shift options to the right. Display a large image and some info on the left.

Add an app icon which would appear on phones based on the app's banner
If the banner was improved that would also be great

Sideloaded apps is missing in the list. Maybe bugs? Please fix. Thanks a lot.

It would be great if apps can be started as background service rather than launching the app UI on bootup.

The reason why I searched and found this app was that I am out of ideas on how to launch a Task in Tasker everytime I power on my Mi Box (Android TV), which means wake the box from "sleep".
I have not found any State or Event in Tasker which works reliably, most of them work very good directly after I power off the box and then start it up again. But if I leave the box for an hour it wont launch the Task.

How have you done this in the app? Is it possible to do the same in Tasker?

As a workaround I downloaded your app, made my Tasker Task to an apk, which I sideloaded. But that wasn't possible to launch from "Launch-On-Boot". So I had to do this: http://atvlauncher.trekgonewild.de/index.php (an TV apk which "points" at the sideloaded apk). This I was able to select from "Launch-On-Boot". But it did not work as intended, the task did not fire (which works when trying to launch the app itself).

Can you maybe add the ability to launch sideloaded apps too? Which are not Android TV apps, but works anyway.

So now I have made a big mess of a little problem.
Can you please help me in the right direction, the best solution would be to make a Tasker Event or State which works everytime the device wakes up.

I need to launch an app that is not listed, is there a way to specify manually the app maybe editing a file via adb?

the app is not showing chrome as an option to load it on the SELECT AN APP menu. i want to be able to lunch chrome after android gets booted

What are the requirements for launch on wake up to work?

Unfortunately there is hardly any documentation about it. You can't even see "Launch when device wakes up" option on the screenshots.

I've testet 1.1.3 from F-Droid on ATV 7.0.
Launch on boot works fine, but on wake up does not work at all.

Hi there! Thank you for this great and indispensable peace of software. It's the only one I've found which is open-source and could launch an app on boot, not counting Termux:Boot which has the WAKE_LOCK permission for some reason that prevents the device from sleeping.

It would be really nice to be able to download this app from F-Droid, although I realize it involves some bureaucracy no one wanna deal with, but still it would be great in many ways. Thank you, anyway!

I need to auto-start an app that automatically signs into a server but if there is no network connectivity requires me to sign in. The device takes a couple of seconds to connect to the wireless network. Therefore, I have to sign in manually every time the device reboots. Is there any way to add delay or require the device to be connected to the network before launching the app?

I just tried this app on my Android TV and on Boot it works fine.
However, on wakeup it happens too fast. I often see the correct app afterwards
but basically always a few seconds afterwards the TV switches to the last used source (like HDMI or whatever). Maybe you could add some "wait" period option?

After my tv update to android 11 the app stopped to work. Can this be resolved?

Have a simple switch to trigger the Live Channels app on the device (or related Live TV app)

This would hide the dialog when selected and show the dialog when unselected.

I tried to use Launch on Boot (instaleld with F-Droid), but it is not working, nothink happened at boot.
Did i forgot something ?

When the device starts, it launches a particular channel in Live Channels. It becomes a sort of Kiosk.

This would require us to query the existing channels and provide those in a list for the user to choose if the TV app switch is enabled.

Can we open a different app based on different conditions?

If it's Saturday morning, I might want to watch cartoons on Live Channels. On Monday night, I may want to open up the CBS News app.

This would require a much more complex data structure to save these triggers and then call them at the right time. It's a stretch idea.

I have the Xibo signage app installed on my fire stick but on the launch on boot app, the xibo isn’t listed. There are a lot of apps that are on the fire stick but not listed on the launch on boot.

anyone know and have instructions on how I can add xibo to the list please?

Hey, is there any new update planned here? It's about the selection of all apps or specifically in my case, Browser Silk. I would be willing to make a small donation to at least update the app. Maybe other interested parties will also be willing to make a donation.

Instead of hard coding app choices in the user would choose from all apps installed on their system.

i am using xiaomi mi tv box 3 android 8.0
after restart the wake up is not working ( need to enable it again ) .
is it possible to fix it ?
i will more then happy to donate some $$$$ for that , and i will send 2-3 mi tv 3 boxes for that
