It would slow SD Card deterioration, but it wouldn't improve performance because storage write speeds are not a bottleneck for animations. If you work on a very long script, 2 hours long at least, you may get better performance when editing the script.

I highly doubt this would be the case, but be aware of the following: if the boot partition is the same as the root partition, and the root partition is the same as the /home partition, Imaginary Teleprompter will loose the ability to save and load scripts entirely because files are saved to Electron's localStorage, which under Linux is located at ~/.config/imaginary-teleprompter/Local Storage/
