Google Chrome

Expected behavior

Actual behavior

Steps to reproduce the problem

APKMirror button still clickable even though it's disabled

Expected behavior

If the app listing is not available on APKMirror, the button should be disabled and when clicked, will not do anything.

Actual behavior

When the app listing is not available on APKMirror, the button is disabled but when clicked, it searches for the app on APKMirror.

Steps to reproduce the problem

  1. Go to the app listing for Monument Valley here
  2. When the page finishes loading, there will be three buttons for the Appbrain, Android Police and APKMirror listing. The APKMirror button should be disabled while the others should be enabled.
  3. When clicking on the APKMirror button, even if it's in a disabled state, it actually searches for the app's package name on APKMirror.

Fails to find "Testing version" intermittently.

Expected behavior

When I go to any app's Play Store page, if that app has a testing / beta version, the page should show

A testing program for this app is available. More info

And that More info link should take me to the beta enrollment page of that app.

Actual behavior

Most of the time, the apps' page says

Testing version not available for this account.

But if I directly go to that app's beta enrollment page, by going to https://play.google.com/apps/testing/app.pkg.name , I do get the "Become a tester" button and I am able to enroll into the beta.

Alternatively, if I keep refreshing the app's Play Store page, after multiple attempts, it is finally able to detect the testing program and shows the "A testing program for this app is available."

Steps to reproduce the problem

Try https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.lastpass.lpandroid.beta
It shows "Testing version not available for this account." most of the time. But https://play.google.com/apps/testing/com.lastpass.lpandroid.beta gives me the "Become a tester" button and I am able to enroll into the beta.
OR
keep refreshing https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.lastpass.lpandroid.beta and after 10-15 times, it will say "A testing program for this app is available."

Feature - Add language dropdown menu

I use every day many times this manual trick for switching reviews language by adding &hl=[language] to an app url for example:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.webview
=>
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.webview&hl=cs
or
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.webview&hl=en

There was built-in dropdown menu for changing language and currency in Google Play before 2013, but this dropdown menu has been removed unfortunately after GP redesign.

PS: Thank you very much for Toolbox for Google Play Store™!

Stopped working (includes Images for Comparison)...

This Addon is available for the Firefox Mobile Browser and it just doesn't seem to work.

I've provided screenshot images with them labeled accordingly that will easily reflect what it supposed to look like and what it does look like.

I currently have the latest version of the Firefox Mobile Browser.

Thank you very much for your time and understanding!

PageAction

Expected behavior

The button should be a PageAction, which would make it have a dot in Chromium on affected pages (grayed out otherwise) and on Firefox/Vivaldi, make it appear in the address bar.

Actual behavior

It is a normal button, so it appears on all sites, including those it does not affect. Cluttering and confusing UX.

Steps to reproduce the problem

Install the extension in mentioned browsers, watch it's behaviour.

Add support for new web Play Store design

Expected behavior

Extension adds additional buttons to Google Play Store web page.

Actual behavior

Does nothing now :(

Steps to reproduce the problem

Test the extension functionality in Chrome 64 and then update to Chrome 65...

Suggestion - Direct APK download

I would suggest an option to directly download an APK from the Play Store itself if at all possible. Websites like APK mirror do not host everything, and so a direct option would be nice

Two language selection appear

Expected behavior

There should be just one bar to change language on the Toolbox for google play extension

Actual behavior

Now I have two bars to change language

Steps to reproduce the problem

This seems to appear wherever I acces to an app description on google play

Shortcut to check for updates to individual apps on the Play Store?

I have a Pixel 7A phone and I try to keep my apps up to date, but getting to the screen that tells me which updates are available requires multiple steps. It would be much quicker checking for updates if I had a shortcut on my phone that would take me right to the update screen!

Add button to view all purchased apps and upgrades.

A button or link that will show all purchased apps on the currently logged in account.

Similar to the Android App which does this only for The Chrome browser as an extension. Here is the link to the Android app... https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.azefsw.purchasedapps

This should be possible because there is already an App for Android phones that does this. It would be better than the Android app because if you have multiple android devices you can easily choose which devices you would like to install it on from the Chrome browser Play Store site using a computer.

Expected behavior

Actual behavior

Steps to reproduce the problem

Google Play keeps spamming me with apps

Expected behavior

Expect opting out of beta apps to stay opted out

Actual behavior

Opt out works for limited time but starts up again

Steps to reproduce the problem

Not sure how to repeat.

Bug: Better screenshot gallery option not working anymore

Expected behavior

The arrow buttons on Play Store screenshot galleries should be replaced with a horizontal scrollbar.

Actual behavior

Default arrow are there and scrolling with keys is not possible

Steps to reproduce the problem

Visit an app page. It worked in the past but just stopped working a few weeks/months ago.

Option to disable AppBrain doesn't behave as expected...

Expected behavior

When disabling the AppBrain button, I expect it to disable the AppBrain button only, leaving the other buttons enabled or disabled according to their individual preferences...

Actual behavior

It disables all buttons, including APKMirror, and AndroidPolice, in addition to disabling the AppBrain button.

Steps to reproduce the problem

Install extension, uncheck the "Enable AppBrain button" preference from the popup, reload the browser window with a Play Store listing in it.

"Toolbox for Google Play" extension breaks wishlist button

Reported via email.

FYI, the current version of "Toolbox for Google Play Store" hides (or otherwise breaks) the "Add to Wishlist" button that would normally be visible in the same spot. So as long as this extension is enabled, I can't add any apps to my wishlist.

Enjoy.

The extension is broken

APKMirror button is always in the "Loading ..." status.
Beta program button - not displayed.

Consider using event pages instead of a persistently-running background page

Currently, the extension uses a background page to load settings and constantly runs in the background eating RAM even if the user doesn't have any Play Store tabs open.

The quick fix is to add "persistent": false in manifest.json

https://developer.chrome.com/extensions/event_pages

A better way is to use chrome.storage so that a background page is never needed, though migrating old localStorage to the new chrome.storage might be a little tricky.

Feature - Beta App Sort

Would love to see a feature that pulled a search of all apps with a beta program. One better if I could narrow to those I have installed but not signed up for the beta. Not sure if the second is possible but the first would be great!
