I think what you are requesting is already available using It.tag. :)

<%=it 'hello', strong: It.tag(:strong), name: user.name %>

It's mentioned in the readme, though not very prominently.

Right you are Emil! I hadn't spotted that in the README but looks like it
does deliver this.

I'll do some experimenting today.
