I see issues related to enabling pinned menu items and I see a preference for setting the modifier for the pinned history but I am not quite sure how to use it. Can you provide some details on how to pin/unpin an entry?
Quite a few websites are blocking copy paste in a misguided attempt at security. Will be great if clipy can paste by emulate using the keyboard to type out the selected item instead of pasting via clipboard
I'm using Dvorak and Russian layouts. If I use Dvorak, then selecting an item from the history pastes it. But If I use Russian layout, it doesn't.
Hello,
I downloaded this updated version of Clipy because the original one stopped working for some reasons (nothing got pasted anymore when using it)
With this version, each time I try to paste, I get the "Please allow Accessibility." message, even if Clipy is actually ticked as an allowed Accessibility App in the the Security & Privacy feature of System Preferences.
Actually, I cannot untick it (which is weird). And it is ticked by default when I install this version
I have no idea what to do.
I use mac OS Catalina Version 10.15.1 and Clipy V1.2.9 beta 12
Any advice for me?
Thank you very much
Regards
I don't know if it's related to I have ever tried to open the version of github.com/clipy/clipy and messed up macOS's system permission history.
Now no matter how I open this version (github.com/ian4hu/Clipy),
the app keep asking for allowing accessibility permission,
I have tried to uncheck and check the permission,
delete the entry and open the app again to trigger the entry back,
delete the entry and adding the entry manually,
still cannot grant the app's permission properly
Or is that possible because same app identifier used between this version and the OG one?
Environment:
macOS 12.0.1
2021 MBP M1
Tried other clipboard managers such as copyQ or Maccy, can grant the permission normally.
As it was in the original clip menu, just looks more native (the original icon was also cooler).
Hey @ian4hu , thank you for maintaining.
Would it be possible to enable Dark Mode for clipy?
The latest version I used for quite some time was 1.2.8. I found 1.2.9 beta 12 here and updated. That version runs fine in Big Sur on my M1 Mac. I tried checking for updates and it installed 1.2.9 beta 18. I cannot launch that version. Now back to beta 12.
能加入一个功能,就是 history 在屏幕的固定位置吗?不是跟随鼠标
Hi, it's should be great if clipy support search in clipboard history
1.2.6 release is broken. can not paste any thing
Clearing history will clear the pinned history as well. It would be nice if there's an option to keep the pinned ones.
Thanks.

Hello. First, I would like to thank you very much for continuing to develop Clipy - it is a wonderful tool!
And I would like to ask if there are any plans on the radar to implement subfolders for Snippets. That would be a very welcome addition to help manage my growing collection of them.
Thank you
I have a ton of clipmenu snippets I've collected over the years. Clippy seems to be a newer version of Clipmenu -- but I can't import the older Snippets.xml into clippy -- seems the xml has DRASTICALLY changed. Is there a tool to convert clipmenu snippets to work with Clippy?
Greetings, I know this was a closed issue, but I am stuck. New computer. I keep getting the security dialog blocking execution. I have been through the process, I have deleted the app and re-added it in the accessibility security system pref dialog. I have cleaned out all of the ~/Library files that pertain to Clipy and tried reinstalling. No love!
Any suggestions?
Hi there,
Would it be possible to publish a new release with the latest fixes? In particular, I am interested in
#37 which doesn't seem to be included in the last (1.2.9.beta12) release.
I did attempt to build the project myself, but have newer versions of XCode and Swift installed than those mentioned in the readme and received a number of errors.
Thank you!
The latest beta (1.2.9.beta14) does not launch on Apple Silicon, double clicking the app does nothing and no process shows in activity monitor. Get info shows it as a universal binary. Downgrading to 1.2.9.beta13 works fine, get info shows intel and activity monitor shows it running in rosetta mode. Let me know if there's anything I can do to help!
btw, thank you so much for this incredible little feature rich well made app! couldn't imagine work without it
Can search function be added?
Hi,
In version 1.2.8, when the sort order is set to "Date created", we get the latest copied at the bottom. It would make more sense to have it at the top, as recently copied items are more likely to be pasted than older ones.
Could you either
Thanks
Do you think you'd be able to produce Notarized builds, please?
Thank you in advance!
FYI Launch fails with Error message:
Mac-mini ~ % /Applications/Utilities/Clipy.app/Contents/MacOS/Clipy ; exit;
Clipy/Realm+Migration.swift:71: Fatal error: 'try!' expression unexpectedly raised an error: Error Domain=io.realm Code=2 "Unable to open a realm at path '/Users/xxxx/Library/Application Support/com.clipy-app.Clipy/default.realm': Unsupported Realm file format version (23)"

The new build has introduced another problem. Right-click on a snippet does not paste plain text anymore. It reduces the font size to 8.5 regardless of the original font size and doesn't remove anything else for a plain text paste.
Using version 1.2.12, the app won't start automatically whenever I restart my mac, though I have selected Preferences->General-> Launch on Login.
I don't see this issue filed, so if anyone know what's wrong then please let me know.
Unless I'm mistaken, right now you can only have one level of organization. It'd be really great if I could create a folder containing either clips or other folders of clips/folders. I would think being able to nest two levels deep would probably be sufficient and help to keep things from being too unwieldy, if that was a concern.
hello the Clipy need update
Hello, just randomly found starred and updated fork from https://github.com/Clipy/Clipy
Can you specify (here or in readme) - what the differences between your and original verion?
Clearing the history is currently all-or-nothing. Sometimes you might copy/paste sensitive information that you don't want retained, but you want to maintain other items in your history. Being able to selectively remove items from Clipy's history would be a wonderful addition to the app.
Thank you for taking over this project; I'm very glad to see it's still alive (just upgraded from ClipMenu 0.4.3).
After configuring Clipy to hide Dock and MenuBar icon, I cannot find a way to restore it. And thus cannot open Clipy's main menu.
This issue has been mentioned in Clipy#386, but clearing all Clipy related files described in #32 did not help.
Actions taken:
Removed files found in find ~/Library | grep -i clipy
and find /Library | grep -i clipy
.
Also removed all ClipMenu related files.
Removed /Applications/Clipy.app
and "reinstalled".
On MacOS 10.14.6, using Clipy 1.2.9 beta 11:
If Max clipboard history size
is set to the same value as Number of items place inline
(lets's call it x
), there is a history rotation issue after recording the first x
items.
Please download the screencast showing the issue here (will only be hosted for 100 days): http://s000.tinyupload.com/?file_id=66911547351521227948
The history is sometimes rotated way later (like 15 minutes later). If the rotation is triggered by a specific action of mine, I've not been able to find out which one it is.
To support pinned clip history which will never expire or retired.
Under macOS Big Sure (11.0.1), Clipy no longer seems to respond to any keys, like Up / Down or pressing numbers. It's as if it didn't have focus or something. (Clipy's popup still comes up but inside it, my keys seem to be ignored.)
This impacts the UX quite heavily, unfortunately. I'm using the latest 1.2.9.beta13 version.
Add a search input control in the clip menu

Currently it use file pathExtension to judge image file, should be more generic.

the 'bundle identifier' (CFBundleIdentifier entry in the Info.plist) file should probably be changed from the original value of the upstream project
1.) according to Apple's documentation each distinct app needs to have a unique bundle identifier. since the codebases have diverged, this fork is now a distinct app and should be distinguishable from the upstream project: https://developer.apple.com/documentation/bundleresources/information_property_list/cfbundleidentifier?language=objc
2.) 3rd party updaters like 'MacUpdater' are unable to distinguish this fork from the original project unless the bundle identifier is changed to something unique
