Currently, Btfy reads the referrer header to determine where your visitor came from when they click your link. But the problem is there will be many Direct/None referrers when you check your stats.

The better way is to add tags to your links. For example: https://ajvlbs.com/ref?=newsletter. When you check your dashboard you will see newsletter as the referrer instead of Direct/None.

Currently adding a custom domain needs manual work on my side and also on the user side too.

Current workflow:

1. User clicks add a custom domain
2. Read instruction that needs to point a CNAME record to my domain
3. User points the CNAME and adds the custom domain
4. On my end, I need to manually add their custom domain to Hatchbox domain list
5. I need to run again my SSL certificate to add their custom domain to the list

Errors in this workflow:

1. If the user starts using their custom domain without me adding it to the SSL, they will encounter an SSL error
2. I need to be notified when they add a custom domain

Better workflow:

1. User clicks add a custom domain
2. They enter their domain, root redirect URL, and 404 redirect URL
3. They will get a screen for instructions on activating this custom domain. On this screen, they will be shown the URL that they need to enter as a CNAME record.
4. Custom domain is added with a waiting status, they can't use this custom domain yet until it is activated.
5. A background job will continue to monitor if the DNS settings are correct and change the custom domain to activated.
6. Email the user that the custom domain is now ready.

It would be nice if a user creates a short link and can specify multiple destination URLs. I'm not sure yet how would the logic be.
