aw-area51's Issues

Freeing unused RAM?

Hi Hua,

I noticed that on Area-51 there's ~20GB of RAM constantly occupied even though no user is running anything. Is there a way to free them?

Also, I realize sometimes my job goes into swp which occupies it indefinitely. I also don't know how to free swp as it doesn't seem to free itself even after a job dies...

/dev/mapper/centos-root is 100% full

Hello Hua,

I've been filtering the HRC data for ~5 chromosomes and it caused /dev/mapper/centos-root to fill up. I deleted a lot of them and now there seems to be no problems, but that directory still seem to be full:

[biona001@REDLBISCOR01 ~]$ df -h

I am not sure if this will cause any system-level problems. This post seems to suggest as long as the files are removed it should be okay, but I figured I would let you know in case this is problematic...

How to run code after logging out?

I have some scripts that potentially need >24 hours to run in Julia. Is there a way to run them without constantly being connected via ssh?
