nodeprep's Introduction

nodeprep

by Henrik Rydgård 2014

go implementation of the "nodeprep" profile of "stringprep". Not that interesting for most people, heh.

nodeprep's Issues

The tests may be testing the wrong thing

I am writing this as an issue to avoid forgetting it.

In the random string test I test that prepping random strings with the python and go functions once and then twice produce the same output.

We do it twice because the python version allows code points in nodeprep that shouldn't be allowed because it doesn't work idempotently on them. The second prepping displays the non idempotent property of those strings.

However, this is a BUG in the python version, and maybe the go version doesn't duplicate this bug?

If not, we should instead check that all strings with non equal first and second results produce errors in the go version.

This has to be analyzed and possibly corrected.
