Python Parameter Inlay Putter

This plugin will add inlay hints to the function calls in Python. Compatible with PyCharm IDE.

Build status:

Installation

• download jar file from releases
• open Settings -> Plugins
• click the gear icon at the top and then select "Install Plugin from Disk..."

It is possible to disable inlay hints in Settings -> Editor -> Inlay Hints -> Python

Example of what does it look like before/after:

• add unit tests (partially done)
• do not generate anything inside external libs code
• add blacklist for builtins (partially done)
• ignore "self" param in case of class (partially done)
• do not generate anything for named params such as: func(name="value") - done

Add colon suffix option

Other JetBrains IDEs tend to insert a colon suffix param: as can be seen below:

Should add an option to enable this for the plugin too.

No inlay hints in jupyter notebooks

Low Priority

Not sure if this is possible to add functionality for inside Jupyter notebooks or not.

Error on Pycharm Pro 2022.3.1

I receive this when trying to install the plugin

Inlay hint is not working when calling child's methods

Test with the following code:

class Child:
    def print_word(self, word):
        print(word)


class Parent:
    def __init__(self):
        self.child = Child()
    
    @property
    def get_child(self):
        return Child()


a = Parent()
a.child.print_word('not working')    #inlay is not shown
a.get_child.print_word('not working')   #inlay is not shown

Not working properly with @staticmethod

inlay hint is not shown for static methods.

Error on pycharm pro 213

I got this error when I tried to install it. Any idea?
