chrome-extension-starter-kit's Issues

How to run as chrome extension

After run npm install and npm start. App run on http://localhost:3000/
Now, how to run as chrome extension. Where do I load unpacked ? root directory or public directory. Both fail to load. Should I edit or move manifest.json, or do somethings else ????

Not working anymore

Don't think this solution works any longer.

  1. In watch.js, "filter" is undefined since there is no entry.app
  2. const CleanWebpackPlugin = require('clean-webpack-plugin'); This no longer works, you have to use: {CleanWbpackPlug}
  3. Even if you make all these changes, you will still get an error:
[ Starting the Chrome Hot Plugin Reload Server... ]
TypeError: [WCER-E1] function(obj) {
obj || (obj = {});
var __t, __p = '';
with (obj) {
__p += 'Background script entry is required';

}
return __p
}.

Service worker registration in Manifest V3

I tried upgrading this to V3 and ran into some issues, realized it was because of service worker registration.

For manifest V3 extensions, do not register/unregister service workers as it handles for you.
