Firstly, thank you for Chromium binary file name feature.

I use the Cent Browser with ChrLauncher.

After ChrLauncher 1.9.4, I installed new launcher (CL v2.2).

I clicked my ChrLauncher shortcut for new window (while the browser already opened).
ChrLauncher don't exectute browser once more.
Solution: Press to CTRL N within the browser for open new window.

I have one issue that keeps me from being totally happy with it ;)

I cannot get Chromium to open links from Thunderbird with my default profile of the portable installation.

In 'chrlauncher.ini' I removed '--no-default-browser-check' from 'ChromiumCommandLine='.
Accordingly, I was asked if I want to set Chromium as the default browser which I OK'd.

Now, whenever I click a link in Thunderbird it opens a new Chromium window using the default Chromium profile path (C:\Users%USERNAME%\AppData\Local\Chromium\User Data\Default)

I tried 'mklink /d C:\Users%USERNAME%\AppData\Local\Chromium\User Data \64\Chromium\profile' resulting in an 'cannot load your profile properly' error.

Next try was setting
ChromiumCommandLine=--user-data-dir="C:\Users%USERNAME%\AppData\Local\Chromium\User Data"
in chrlauncher.ini
Result was a permission error for the profile path on the system drive.

Do you have an idea how to solve this?

This box popup after the first download of Chromium with your app.

I tried dozens of directories (ProgramData, Program Files, Program Files x86, etc) but the message still popup. I also renamed the folder in a variety of ways and still result is the same.

I tried to reinstall with different channel type (from dev-codecs-sync to stable-codecs-sync) and it started to throw error. I have no idea what have changed after that.

How do I uninstall the Chromium installed this way? Would just deleting the bin/ and profile/ directories do, or is there a better way to do it?

I am getting this error message when starting chrlauncher for the first time with the following settings (ok with default settings):

• ChromiumArchitecture=0
• ChromiumType=stable-codecs-nosync
• Flash Player activated

On Windows 7, entering any text into the start menu's search box and selecting "Browse Internet" (sorry if this isn't the exact wording, my OS doesn't run in English) with chrlauncher set as default browser always opens a new Chromium window without performing the search.

It may be relevant that running SetDefaultBrowser.bat didn't set chrlauncher as the default browser although every output line stated success; I had to do so manually via the control panel.

Can't see any flash based content.

At this moment the download folder is set up as '\bin' and it cannot to be changed.
Do You can create a setting page for choose download folder?
For example '\Bin\Chrome' as in winPenPack or another download folder for adapt Your program to other Chromium Portable.

It would be awesome if you are able to click "update" or "not now" when chrlauncher detects an update, this becuase it could happen you are on UTMS or so, bad connection and you just want to use Chromium instead of the latest version.

I hope you can add this and thanks for the great launcher!

Why do you use GPL man? This wonderful software should have had a much more friendly and permissible license like the MIT or BSD or even Apache 2.0. Specially considering that this is an extension app for chromium which itself is licensed under the wonderful BSD. Another point is the fact that, this piece of application is meant as a no nonsense permissible no strings attached option to google chrome. So, why not take the better route to MIT or BSD? Moreover, BSD and MIT are also anyways compatible with GPL, so if a user wants to add GPL code to an application under a BSD or MIT license, they can, as these licenses are compatible. So, BSD /MIT is basically the superset of all Open Source licenses and are considered the mother of Open Source ideology.

Hello, there is error with flash player loading thru chrlauncher.
Tryed all versions of chromium (dev-official, dev-codecs-sync, stable-codecs-sync) and removed "--disable-component-update" from cmd line. No use.
Then i commented "FlashPlayerPath=", add to "ChromiumCommandLine=" "--ppapi-flash-path="(full_path)\plugins\pepflashplayer.dll" --ppapi-flash-version=24.0.0.194" and now all works.
But it's not comfortable to update flash now.

(I'm on windows 7 without admin rights)

So disable this window when i close app with processed download.
Add option for start/stop download. So i need only new verison. Create option for check it(if i have 21.06.2016 version) i mean need to path with my installer PORTABLE browser.

If I need to open Chromium in incognito mode, I have to edit the chrlauncher.ini : /

Requesting a feature to expand environment variables when used int he command line or chrlauncher.ini file.

For example "%APPDATA%".

I am using it with a Chromium 53 (32 bit) build from Nik. It shows plugin at chrome://plugins. But when I open website it shows "Couldn't load plugin." at the place of the Flash area.

This is extremely annoying: I am using crlauncher with dev-codes-sync on Windows 10.

Every so often chromium dissapears to show up after like half a second. That looks like flickering and is extremely annoying, because it sometimes kills a video or eg. a pdf document which i was reading.

I am using x64 versions of chrlauncher and Chromium.

Tried with different chrome binaries (stable and lkgr) and plugin versions(different x64 and even x32), but the result is still same:

Using chrlauncher 1.9.4 x64 works fine.

Clicking on launcher shortcut, and then pinning the window to taskbar produces a duplicate icon on next shortcut launch, or vice versa, depending on the order of clicking.
It seems to be connected to that chrlauncher.exe and chrome.exe are different programs, so the resulting icons are duplicating, would be glad to hear your opinion.

Windows 10 automatically resets the default browser to Edge no matter how many times I run the script with admin privileges.

I am using crlauncher with dev-official builts and can't connect Chromium with my Google account. If I try to do so and put in my verification key (the one you get per phone) it says "An error occured" and just goes back to the login screen.

Does this have something to do with crlauncher or is it just the official dev builts?

Hi, I got the stable nik sync build from chromium.woolyss.com, and I'm using chrlauncher to update Chromium installed to %APPDATA%. I've changed chrlauncher's config file to point there, however, it doesn't update my build.

Launching from the command line with Chromium already running will still check for a new version and attempt to install the update. But when the update realizes Chromium is running, it will error, and then Chromium will become unstable. I'm guessing the instability is because some file are missing between the update.

Not sure if this is because of launching from the command line, or if the same could occur launching from the .EXE.

The command line (or exe) should check if an instance is already running.

Whenever I launch chrlauncher, my previous session is restored in addition to a new page 8.0.0.0. This page is also opened whenever I click a link outside of Chromium. Any idea how to resolve this?

Updated from v50 to v51 today, and I'm getting a message about Adobe Flash Player not being up to date. Not sure if the two events are related. But definitely not sure how to update Adobe Flash.

When I'm on http://chromium.woolyss.com/, I can just download the installer and install Chromium (most importantly, complete with things such as Widevine). When I try to use chrlauncher as a utility to update said install, it instead installs a separate instance of Chromium, without my profile, or things like Widevine enabled or working. I have played around with the .ini and cannot figure out how to get this seemingly useful application to do what I want to do: update my current installation from the installer found at http://chromium.woolyss.com/ (where this utility is advertised in the first place).

Am I not changing something correctly in the ini file? Help would be appreciated because I would like to use this.

The current one doesn't seem to be working, it's still in the Default Programs list, and is still seen as a browser by Windows.

I am currently in a certain country where the Internet traffic is censored, and I run a local Privoxy server combined with https://github.com/shadowsocks/shadowsocks-libev to gain access to certain blocked websites. My Windows OS is configured to use 127.0.0.1:8118 as a system proxy. However chrlauncher seems to ignore the setting as every day I do get a "no updates found message." The config file doesn't seem to have a section for proxy settings either. I would like to have support for proxy servers.

Edit: suddenly chrlauncher discovered an update, but seems to download at a very slow speed. Might need help to determine if it is going through my proxy.

With chrlauncher (thanks for it!) and different channels I so far did not find one where widevine support was working. The dlls are there, but chrome://components does not show widevine but says 'No components installed'. Do you know anything about this problem? I have poked around a bit but without any success so far, also went through comments on https://chromium.woolyss.com but no luck so far.
Any help appreciated.

It seems the command line argument for user --user-data-dir and/or --profile-directory isn't working anymore.

Also noticed the Chromium Profile screen appears, which it didn't use to. I also use the "stable-codecs-nosync" builds. It specifically says "without the profile button", so not sure why I see a profile screen now.

I estimate I started to have this problem around the September 2016 time frame.

Hello, I'm trying to use the tool in a network that filters all traffic through a proxy server. Internet Explorer uses a proy auto-configuration file (pac-script) and I expected chrlauncher to just work since it uses the WinInet-functions. However, according to wireshark, a direct connection to the target HTTP-server is attempted, which fails due to the firewall blocking the request.

Has anyone succeeded running chrlauncher through a proxy server?

Opening a link to some site from, for example, Thunderbird or Skype opens not only the link but 4 additional tabs as well. In the order from left to right, tabs opened are: "url/", "--", your link, "http://--ppapi-flash-path%3Dc/Program%20Files/ChrLauncher/plugins/pepflashplayer.dll", "http://--ppapi-flash-version%3D24.0.0.194/".

It appears the code is appending command line arguments. What happens if I use "--user-data-dir" in my ini file? What will the code do?

It appears I'll have two/duplicate entries. Not sure if this is stable, or might create a problem.
