FR: Call 7D2D with `-logfile` option and add a button to e.g. `tail -f` it

Hi @HAL-NINE-THOUSAND

First thanks for the DMT modding tool, has been proven great while implementing my electricity overhaul mod!
Since I've been working quite a bit with it, I was missing one main feature: being able to easily check the game logfile.

For one I can't for the life of me remember where my game stores the logfile by default.
In order to fix that, I mainly call it with the -logfile option to actually know where it is.

Now this feature request could go in two ways (or both).

  • Allow users to pass optional command line arguments to e.g. each game location
  • Force each game started via play button to log to a known location (e.g. DMT/Logs/SP-19.6b8.log)

Additionally it would be cool to have an easy way to view the logfile.
This part will probably mean the most work, since it is "unclear" what "view the logfile" should mean exactly.
I assume a configurable field where one could enter the command to be executed to view the log might work.

Guess the intention of this feature request is clear.
Would love to see any improvement in that direction!

P.s. here also a short list of "issues" that I saw

  • With multiple game locations, it's unclear what "play" or "play after build" exactly does
  • Dedicated server seems supported (as seen in my Backup folder), but unclear how it works
  • Also play doesn't seem to start the dedicated server (didn't investigate much here)

Plugin Hook missing for command line

Reading DLL Plugins from the Plugin folder appears to only work when running DMTViewer.exe, but does not get read-in when running from the command line.

How do you put this in dedi on ubuntu?

I am interested in this since I need a mod that uses bmt, but I don't know how to install it on my dedicated server with ubuntu.

and after installing in ubuntu ( if possible ), what do i need to do in my game in windows to get into my dedicated server?

Bug with the new update?

I am not sure if there is a certain format I have to put this in so forgive me.

I'm receiving an error whenever I attempt to build the mods. It only happens after the update to version 2.2.7568.19791. If I attempt to build mods with version 2.0.7486.30873, the mods build correctly without error. I have tried a fresh 7 days install and tried validating the files with steam.

Here is the error as follows along with the mods I am using (If that helps)

Why is it wiping a TON of my other mods out?

These mods, i was using them and it totally wiped them out and i can't find them....That's an hours worth of downloads and modifications to the mods. It calls them "disabled" mods. They're not disabled. And where did they go? Hours of modifications and additions added to these mods with media and alterations......all gone....I mean WTF man?!?

This code is destructive to do something like this with no option to retrieve the (beyond deleted) mods.

Mod Name supported characters

There are no checks or sanitizing of the mod name's value before it is used to try and create the target directory which results in "The given path's format is not supported." error.

Harmony 2

Since I've been waiting for a while so I thought it was worth suggesting to update harmony.
I've replaced the dll on the current DMT build and it seems to work fine, just have to make some small adjustments to patches made with 1.2.
